I've owned this plane for almost 2 years and I have to admit, it certainly doesn't feel like it's been that long. Purchased locally from a guy who had built it, but never got around to flying it, this plane popped up on FB Marketplace one day and I jumped on the deal while I had the money to do it. I wasn't looking for another plane (well, maybe a little bit), nor was I looking for a De Havilland Venom specifically, but I'm so glad I got this when I did. The Venom has become one of my top 3 planes in my fleet and even inspired others at the field to buy one as well. Unfortunately, not everyone is into the EDF jet lifestyle, so those that did buy one, have moved them on...
The Venom has been instrumental in shaping my EDF addiction and helped me tune my circuits and flying skills over time. It's a very efficient jet (if you want it to be) as it has a fairly long and broad wing giving it lots of lift at low speeds. This means it takes off with a very short roll-out, can cruise at low throttle quite effortlessly, can float around very easily and makes it one of the easiest planes to land, which can make any noob pilot to EDF jets look good.
Then there's the sound of that 90mm outrunner... This maiden is but a taste of what it sounds like in person, so I'll upload a more current flight of this plane when I get some good footage, so you can see just how awesome this plane is and how good it sounds. Surprisingly, the others that bought the Venom as well, got the V2 (which uses an inrunner) and it doesn't sound quite the same.
