*_Dear Editor, camera operator, grips, production crew, first and second unit directors, voice talent, non AG casting director:_* This was an incredibly well put together video, every aspect of the edit is excellent. Blown away, was not expecting this, cheers for making a Monday morning suck less. Definitely earned a sub, (and if you have any bridges for sale... I mean Wow) *_Dear B-25 Pilot,_* I would like to salute your 200% approach to takeoffs, that was a display of sheer will versus the dark forces of speed, gravity and lift. While Corn Cutter Guy did it more energetically, your attempt to level the corn field was as slow and deliberate as Austin Powers doing a U-Turn. Well done, Sir. (Five minutes later). Well done, Sir! *_Dear USN Veteran Hat Guy_* I got one of those hats, too. Appreciate you. *_Dear DC-3 Guy,_* You know how, on your real car or truck, curbing a stock wheel is just a great reason to get 'rims'? I consider your incident the greatest beginning possible for a new P-3C Orion build, whaddya think? The DC3 seems a little lacking in the thrust/weight department, so add another pair of motors! Easy breezy cover girl!

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU kind sir. This comment makes my day, week, month...haha It's a two man team (my 9yo son and I) and we love trying to share the joy this hobby has brought us! My background has been photo for the past 20 years, but started with video and has obviously been re-ignited lately haha. Finally built up enough confidence to start creating and finally post last year! I'll get your comments to the guys at the club who may not see this, and they'll greatly appreciate the kind words as well 😃 Again, thank you friend. Thank you for your service and thoughtful remarks. It's comments like these that let me know what we're creating is of value and inspire me for more. THANK YOU!

@@honeywoodhobby With a little awe, and a slight hint of jealousy (I couldn't get either of my daughters into R/C... _so I stole their boyfriends bwaa ha),_ and a whole heaping of respect, here's a virtual handshake from a new friend in Florida! We're absolutely floored to find out this video is the work of a 9 year old, with some help from his old man ;-) Nicely done! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-V0WXhTm8MOM.htmlsi=tvhRbyV4-jZdFZrA&t=290 At the 5:47 mark in the above video, I put my drone flying buddies on full flex, t-shirts and all, in the same respectful (taunting) way your field-friends carry on. That camaraderie and support is something else, (especially when it's shoehorned in with clowning and bad language lol). And it's the same at every flying field, pit lane, dugout, and nuclear submarine I've ever been invited to, amirite? Nothing like the feeling of giving back some of the ribbing the first time, to feel like part of the family! Looking forward to seeing where you're lending your talents next, you two! Keep doing hard things!

Fun to watch this video and it brings back great memories from the early to mid 1990’s, i’m 47yrs old now, my dad and i started flying RC’s in the winter of 1988/89, we had been flying control-line before that, the local r/c scene here in my area were some very fun, interesting, & entertaining characters to say the least, we all formed the “broken prop” flying club, we had hours upon hours of fun flying & laugh after laugh, sadly through the years alot of those good old guys passed away, some moved away, others simply just got out of the hobby. I’ll say it again though, this video reminded me so much of that fun period in my life, thank you for making and sharing.

@@honeywoodhobby they have servo operated gear, and there are two small thin foam doors behind the nose gear - one for the receiver and the other for the tail servos. We even still have some spare wings and a few other parts for those if anyone’s interested! The designer of that plane, a Mr Liang, also designed the beautiful Mosquito they made, and the plastic nose FW-190 that Hobby King sold. When HC closed he started the company that makes the original foamie B-17 (the 1875mm one- also a gorgeous plane) All of his designs fly great! My childhood dream of flying rc helicopters and planes finally came true in 2016 thanks to me discovering Horizon Hobby with E-flite and Spektrum radios. Growing up working class in the 80s meant i might as well have wanted a Lamborghini Diablo. Anyway, i bought a sportcub RTF kit and was hooked. Within 6 months i had a DX6 G2 and 5 planes, the original Timber being my 1st, didn't have a computer so no simulator so without needing to say it, i crashed some, Ok a lot, and still do. I still prefer Eflite but have some Freewing, Dynam and FMS, all foamies. The 1st club i joined were kinda hard@$$=$ and hated as3x and SAFE and pretty much anything new, and since i had only been flying 6 months they ragged my inverted flight, my attempted knife edges, 4 point rolls etc. I wasnt very good at any of the maneuvers but i was able to do basics and full inverted passes but i found another club and even though there are incredible pilots in it, the main thing is, just enjoy yourself. Like in anything, some get way better, some learn slower but it's all about the fun. I have a blast no matter what, dont want to crash but hey, its part of it and foamies are cheaper and easier to fix. I plan on building some 2.0m and bigger war birds at some point but for right now, I'm happy to have a plane in the air. Was the Timber X today and the Blade Fusion 270 rc helicopter

LOL Yeaaaa gotta admit though I wouldn’t have gotten into the air side of RC without the ease of BNF planes and what not, buuuuut I’ve grown a strong dislike for SAFE and AS3x over the past month as well. If I didn’t have so much invested already between my son and I, I have eyed up that FrSky system 😅 Thanks for watching!

@@honeywoodhobby yeah I think what you wrote is how they are still in business, their products suck badly compared to competition and feature set and price. Young people that are into drones laugh at spectrum and rightfully so. It's incredible how the technology advanced (not spectrum of course), you can now go 10 miles for less than $100, or you can fail safe with $300 spectrum box radio 800 feet away with a $79 receiver lol

@@matejbludsky8410 This comment means more to me than a week ago, after learning about frame losses and holds this past week. 😵‍💫 Not only learning about such things, but also experiencing 2 fail safe scenarios(less than a second each), 15+ holds across multiple EFlight planes, and purchasing my first balsa plane. You've got me thinking harder friend. I've always felt they were like Traxxas of the air, but worlds better.

@@honeywoodhobby Traxxas of the air haha that’s good ! I understand it becomes hard to move full fleet over but the good thing about spectrum is that it’s pretty easy to sell since a lot of older folks are still using it.. I would suggest you look at radio master and express lrs 2.4ghz .. that is basically where things are heading seems like, it’s very affordable too. Frsky also has some good options but unfortunatelly frsky has become this hated company kind of like DJI for locking everything down and using shady tactics to eliminate good competition so i would stay away from them. These days you can get full inav setup for less than $100 and you will have the ability to do auto launch, automated mission, return to home OSD on the screen and many more, if just line of sight, there are some good options for GPS return to ghome also and cheap about $30 .. why would anyone buy spectrum for $79 when you can get GPS return to home for like $40 complete and rc link that can go 10 miles :D

The closest I have come to putting it in the trees where I fly is with SAFE and AS3X. First time flying in SAFE was ridiculous. I can't imagine being a new flier and thinking SAFE is easy mode! AS3X is great when it works, but I have some planes that I just can't get sorted out and they do weird things when in that mode. Tip: Put the gain for AS3X on a knob so you can get the amount of stabilization dialed in). I grew up flying FM gear and all we had were thumbs. If I were instructing a new flier, they would start out in normal mode with none of the fancy features turned on save some expo. I would tell them to consider AS3X (and maybe SAFE) as advanced features for certain aircraft like jets and hot warbirds.@@honeywoodhobby

Not one helicopter in the bunch. Too bad! Very disappointed, as you did say rc aircraft. Another limited club!

I can just imagine all the experience of crashing excuses this club has. It’s not a hobby it’s a kick in the balls, have your wife or a friend kick you in the balls as hard as possible, then you can fly RC. If you get up and retaliate to that kick stay away from RC

Nice video but the voice narration doesn't feel right for me. Kinda weird and unnatural.

Jeff shouldnt be doing peoples test flights. His under use of rudder is appalling. Chuck effectively decided to purposefully destroy his DC3 by rejecting the takeoff (reduction of power) after he already pulled it off the runway early and stalled it and it was pointing in the sky.
@goodcopbadcop9872

Looks like he held up elevator the whole takeoff with the DC3. Kids, for tail draggers, it is good practice to hold up elevator when starting your takeoff roll. This helps keep the tail wheel planted until there is enough speed, and thus, enough air moving over the tail surfaces to make them work. Effectively, you go from the tail wheel doing the steering to the rudder. However, you need to let up on the elevator as you increase throttle and speed. You want neutral elevator (and often some down elevator) to keep the plane on the ground while it builds enough speed to take off. As we see here, if you forget to let go of the up elevator you take off too early and the plane points to the sky, stalls, and crashes. Most of our RC planes are overpowered and can be horsed off the ground. It is a bad habit to get into. For me, I try and keep the plane on the ground for as long as possible and never just smash the trhotttle and jump the plane in the air.
