It's time to harvest our container grown potatoes at the allotment garden! We've been patiently waiting since April to harvest our Java, Setanta, Cara, and blue (yes blue!) potatoes, named 'Blue Annelise'. These potatoes are main crop varieties, and they are all blight resistant except for the Blue Annelise. That hasn't stopped the blight from wiping them out this summer, though! More on that in the video...
As well as harvesting our first few buckets, I'll be telling you in a nutshell, just how I grew these potatoes. They didn't do quite as well as they could have done this year, so I'll be explaining what I think didn't go well and how we can try and make sure we don't have the same problems again next year.
Do you grow potatoes in your garden or allotment? Which varieties do you grow? How do you grow them? In ground, or in buckets like I do? Do you have problems with pest or disease?
Let me know in the comments! I'd love to know your tips & advice, and hear your experiences!
I hope you found this video useful and learnt something about growing potatoes!
