Maine Bruins - How to Trap Black Bears 

In Maine it is legal to actually kill a son ith Cubs. But we only put our traps at locations that were monitored with trail cameras and we knew sows were not in the area. However, we did have a sow and Cubs show up at one trap. We had a Receal cellular camera and as soon as we got the photos of the sow in the area we hightailed it out there and scared the family off. Sows can be released, thankfully I have never had to try it

I've seen people release bears with a catchpole.

There is also a less expensive version that is made in Maine as well. Can't remember the name but they are an hour away from me.
