In this episode is our normal workday with some fun mixed in! We set some hooks to try to catch a halibut. It was a success! This was filmed over the course of 2 days. I didn't go to in depth with the lobster fishing or halibut fishing to try to keep the video from being to long. If you want a more in depth video of lobster fishing I have one back on episode 3. It was only my 3rd episode and I was very new at the cameras and editing...and evidently my taste of music as well. So bare with me haha. If you want to check that out ill leave the link below! Thanks!

I’m a Midwesterner born & bred and aside from catching minnows in local creeks, I don’t know a damn thing about fishing! But I’m mesmerized by your videos & this just made me smile!

I discovered your videos a few weeks ago. I love the ocean and sky views and the older ice fishing. I actually live in the foothills of the mountains and believe the majesty of the mountains, sky, and water are second to none in showing the awesomeness of my Savior, Jesus. May God keep you safe and bless you and your crew.

Good catch with the Halibut. I like the use of the drone as it gives a better perspective of the fishery. BTW, back in the day, I worked on the docks in Seattle at a fish storage facility (Rainer Ice and Storage) for Salmon, Halibut and other species. The Halibut came in all sizes from chicks (size of small tennis racquets) to jumbos that tipped scales between 300 and 500 pounds. Those usually took 2-3 of us to move those around. Room temps ran from -40 deg F to 11 deg F. Fun times!

Dude, I LOVED that type of music you played in the video! I think it really captured the essence of the moment. I wish more channels would use that type of music for those types of situations! Thank you for posting everything in this video; even though you were new at it, you did a really good job, in my opinion.

Brilliant video footage! I really enjoyed it! The sunrise, the ocean, your crew, the sea gull and your boat were all spectacular to watch including your hauls of the day! Thanks for doing the cleaning of the halibut and cooking segment! It was also nice to see your wife and son. Your son had a lot to say while you were explaining how to take the lobster 🦞 meat out from the shell. It was so simple when one knows how to do it. I've attempted it without knowledge and made a big mess out of it!

Im a native maine guy myself an have caught a good charge of halibit on long lines. Jacob try grilling one someday VS steaming. So damn good. Wrap in aluminum foil with lots of butter, fresh lemon slices, and salt, pepper, garlic powder, and a hint of onion powder and then stick on grill for a hr maybe longer depending on fish size, I promisse ya wont complain about how it tastes. Hands down my favorite salt water fish in maine, then striped bass maybe but halibut is still king of salt water fish taste wise.

Those halibut are enormous! What an awesome lesson in filleting them. As a person who loves steak and seafood…and fishing, THANK YOU! Darn, I’m so craving sushi and a halibut steak.. You’re right, best tool is a razor sharp filleting knife.. PS..MY Dad was an avid fisherman; absolutely nothing was wasted, he caught them, and Mum and I cleaned and cooked them…my Mum had the most beautiful , healthy and prolific roses and flowering plants in the city..plants LOVE the fishy bits…nice to see a man who cleans and cooks his catch for the family.. MILK? Really? I’m going to try it.

Hello Jacob and Crew… I found channel a year ago and I have been watching your videos and shorts and y’all have made me laugh so much! I have the utmost respect for y’all, I know being a commercial lobstermen or fishermen doesn’t come easy… I have been to the beautiful state of Maine a couple of times to eat the freshest of seafood 🦞 I couldn’t make up there this year because Cancer had other plans for me,man! I miss that delicious Maine lobster 🦞 and specially now that I live in Pennsylvania… When I use to live in Rhode Island (for 30yrs) I had to have my 1 lobster and seafood once a week, I would go to Narragansett RI and wait for the boats to come back and I always like buying from them because I would pay what they priced their product and after a few years they got to know me and would save for me what they knew what I bought🥰 I hate Cancer!!!! A really bad Yanet for sure, but you have brought me joy and good beautiful memories…. Sending y’all lots of love and blessings and prayers from Pennsylvania 🙏🏼♥️🙏🏼♥️🙏🏼♥️

If you put salt in the boiling water on the bottom of a two-piece pot, it will boil hotter than regular water and the stuff in the top part will cook faster because the bottom part holds more heat. If you put salt in the water on top, it'll take the same amount of time as if you had plain water in both, but fish cooked in salted water does taste better.

Salt water starts boiling slower. Because the boiling point is higher. But that also mean that the stuff you boiling get done a bit quicker.

Salt in water helps stop foamy boil overs, when food is cooked in the water, and adds a bit of flavor. Its not needed in a steamer/double boiler pot at all.

Thanks a lot man! Mine are commercial, just the 25 tags. You can get a different commercial license then the one I have that allows one per day year around but it comes with a lot of reporting and headaches. Mine is just the normal commercial 25 tag license. Yes applied right on the state site.
