Hello I’m Jacob Knowles! I am a 5th generation lobster fisherman from Maine. I enjoy sharing behind the scenes of where your lobsters come from! I spend a lot of time exploring the great state of Maine in a 54 Cessna 180. I do a lot of fishing, skiing, and hunting. Subscribe and follow along for some great sights, education, and adventures!
They kill a lot of lobsters. It's hard to get them out of the trap. They bite the trap and hold on. They are slimy and they are very strong. I dropped one before getting it out of the trap and it was rolling around squirming on the deck of the boat still trying to bite me. The guy I was fishing for came out of the wheelhouse to see what I was doing and he couldn't even breathe because he was laughing so hard that I was literally running away from a fish chasing after me. Wolf fish are scary.
folks, i cannot stress this enough: if you can go to maine, go respectfully and support the local businesses. be nice, act like you're not a loud mass or new yorker, and spend some money in town at the restaurants and get some of the seafood. there is hardly a bad restaurant in the state. good seafood can change your life. the natural beauty of maine is up there with any of the states in the US. it's a special place. we won't be able to enjoy places like maine forever.
herring are known as the silver darlings in scotland thier fishery saved so many displace communities whe nthe landowners forced them off the land to be replaced by sheep.
WOW! That freaks me out, because I built a 1:12 scale lighthouse and I made an Atlantic Wolfish out of polymer clay as a trophy on one of the walls! Seeing a real live one is pretty cool!
