Tech neck, also known as cervical kyphosis, can result from having a hunchback slouch or pitched forward head. This posture is often observed in individuals when they’re looking down at their electronic devices. Not only does this put a lot of strain on your neck and shoulders but it can also lead to both upper back pain and even pain and tingling in the arms and hands. This video demonstrates what Tech Neck is and also provides some key exercises that can be used to maintain a healthy cervical spine.

This is an excellent video! So helpful and informative. I do 3 out of the 5 exercises here to strengthen and maintain my cervical spine. I am indebted to my PT who showed me how to do these exercises and I have incorporated them into my workout routine. I will definitely incorporate the other 3 exercises to do as well. Thank you so much! And keep those excellent videos coming!

In my case is not the pain my pain is tolerable but I get numbness from my head to feet in one side of my body, depending where I feel more pressure on my neck.. something is the right side sometimes is the left side. Most of the time left side I get numb and thingling sensation all over my left side. The feeling is horrible and sometimes it feel like is hard to breathe or heavy on my chest. I’m waiting for my referral to a neurologist or a spine doctor, but in the mean time what do I do with this numbness is horrible and it feels in half of my head too even in the back of my eye kind of blurry or just confuse. Pls anyone that is reading me help me. I been taking antiflamatory NSAID.. the ER game me Methocarbamol 500 but it makes me so dizzy and heart palpitations. I’m so desperate 🙏

Thanks for this therapy information Dr. Su. So many people can certainly benefit from it. Question: I have cervical central canal stenosis. Two things I'm curious about. When is the time to think about doing something about it? What symptoms are worrisome in other words? Secondly, is there a good, successful alternative to a laminectomy for increasing that canal space so fluid can better flow in your opinion? I've read about "minimally invasive" procedures that utilize a tool that vibrates a very high frequency. Is this a safe procedure with high efficacy?

@@DrBrianSuTheSpineGuy I have watched several of your videos. They are very well done. I will watch the one about cervical stenosis again. My myelopathy in terms of strength and agility didn't indicate surgery. I have other symptoms like feeling congested in my head/ears closed feeling. A pressure sensation. I had a brain MRI related to hearing loss and all was clear. So I'm wondering if the occlusion of the canal can cause this feeling in the head.

I’ve had the fusion now Dr. Su. I wore a hard collar and a Bone Stimulator. My surgeon did not use A cadaver bone , but Titanium rings. He fused 5, 6 and 7. He went through the front of my neck. The fusion took, after months! Now he wants to go through the back of my neck for another surgery. He showed me my MRI which shows an area narrowing on the spinal cord. He wants to go in and open that area up and let the blood flow better through that area. It’s not a bone spur pressing against the spinal sac. The fusion did not help the numbness in my hands and forearms at all. The fusion was because #6 had collapsed. He said he fused 67 also, to strengthen 6. He says the surgery through the back is more intense and severe pain for about 6 weeks. He also said some problems could happen, like infection or he might do something wrong, and he would be cutting through muscle and have internal stitches that will dissolve. He also said any surgery on the back or neck will have pain all my life. I asked him had he ever heard of you. Should I have that surgeryDr. Su? He said he doubted I’d get the feeling back in my hands and forearms, but, he could guarantee it wouldn’t spread. What should I do? Have the surgery? Or not? If I don’t, will I end up in a wheelchair?
