This ain’t your daddy’s IT. Microsoft 365 is WAY MORE SOPHISTICATED.
Microsoft 365 needs to be maintained and it needs your attention - lots of it. This video goes over HOW TO *PROPERLY* MAINTAIN, ANALYZE AND MANAGE A MICROSOFT 365 SYSTEM. You will learn how we have developed our Microsoft 365 maintenance process at Xerillion as applied through our Confident Cloud Advantage managed services.
When we maintain Microsoft 365 for a client, we analyze 9 different portals with 44 different checks - each of which must be checked off inside a recurring maintenance ticket and it is a 2 HOUR ANALYSIS -NOT including any remediation work!
Yes, this video is 1.5 hours long - a CRAZY amount of time in the world of 5 minute RU-vid videos, but the raw version of this video was 2.5 hours long and this is STILL JUST AN OVERVIEW! My point being, maintaining and analyzing Microsoft 365 is a SERIOUS UNDERTAKING.
I am going to help you reduce that overwhelming feeling.
Microsoft 365 spits out alerts, just like servers do. So who is watching them? If your idea of “good IT work” is “keeping the lights on” - then you are doing old fashioned IT. You aren’t really managing things; you are just putting out fires.
With Microsoft 365, *MICROSOFT* is in charge of keeping the “lights on” -and OUR JOB as IT Pro’s or as your managed service company is to analyze PORTALS - NOT SERVERS-to review alerts from cloud services about changes, upgrades, fixes, threats and problems that could affect your users ability to get their work done or affect your company’s privacy and security.
The good news? Your days of dealing with failed hardware on servers and patching software are OVER. The bad news? Your NEED TO SKILL UP to thoroughly understand a Microsoft 365 cloud services system OR you need to get the right company who knows how to maintain your Microsoft 365 subscription.
Here are key technologies you need to understand THOROUGHLY and that I discuss in this video:
-Azure Active Directory PREMIUM
-Azure Identity Protection
-Microsoft Intune
-App Protection Policies
-Conditional Access Policies
-Device Management Policies
-Compliance Policies
-Machine Learning Threat Detection for cloud services, apps and devices
-Retention Policies for email and files
-Data Lifecycles
-Data Governance
-Microsoft Phone System
-Microsoft Secure Score
I take you through an orientation of the Microsoft 365 maintenance process, and a short demo of each part of our process, and you can decide if you want to use some of the parts for your own process - OR if you want to talk to us about helping you, you can email support@xerillion.com, or call us at 847-995-9800.
No matter what you decide - Microsoft 365 DOES NEED TO BE MAINTAINED.
Wayne

A 1.5 hour RU-vid video???!! I know...I know; this video was a beast to create but it is highly relevant to a modern enterprise cloud system. I recommend watching it a little bit at a time assuming you can't watch it all in a single shot. I'm going to be creating several cuts of this video to be released in the next few weeks: 1. Version without the demo (orientation only) + 9 separate cuts for each of the 9 M365 systems we maintain.

Thanks for this incredible helpful video! What training course would you recommend to start learning every service you demonstrated here?

OK, I'll tell you - but you aren't going to like the suggestion. Get certified and become a certified Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert. Requires exams MS-100 and MS-101. Studying to pass these two exams will eat up a lot of your free time in the evenings and weekends and will consume the next 6 months of your life (really not that long), and you'll need 40-60 hours of studying to pass each one, and you might even need to retake them a few times. But at the end of 6 months, your confidence and understanding of Microsoft 365 will be off the charts AND, your salary potential will increase 20-30%, and your over career opportunities. THAT is what you need to do. Start with MS-100 and I recommend ExamCollection.com for practice tests. Do yourself, your savings account and your career and set yourself apart from the 99% of other IT pro's out there that are all talk when it comes to getting certified.

@@Xerillion This was a very informative video. Thanks for putting it together. Microsoft lists about 40 learning partners available to contact for training to learn and prepare for the exams, but I'm not aware of any good way to find out which ones are good or bad. Is there a Microsoft Learning Partner you would trust/recommend (preferably all online)?

@@petechenard Here at Xerillion, we only study practice exams, and that is all I have ever done myself throughout my career (about 15 Microsoft exams total). I like ExamCollection (premium/paid version). Studying 100-400 test questions over 2-3 months really forces you to learn a ton. IT is slow and tedious, but has always worked the best for me and the rest of our team.

@@Xerillion Hey Wayne, I'm finally going to start studying for the Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert certification. I see at ExamCollection they say you need to use Avanset software for the practice exams. Is that what you recommend or are there alternatives that would be a better option? Thanks again for all your great videos. They are a great resource and much appreciated.
