Precautions when using a chain block
01. Before using the chain block, check if the chain is twisted.
Welded part of chain links outward from the sheave.
Apply oil to the chain and hook neck.
02. When using the chain block, make sure to check the weight of the load and rated load of the hoist. Never lift load more than rated load of the hoist.
03. When using the chain block, do not operate hoist unless load is centered under hoist with load chain and hoist be placed on a vertical line.
04. When moving the chain block after use, do not drag it on the floor or leave it outdoor that will cause hoist and load chain to get damaged and rusted.
05. After using the chain block, remove dirt and foreign substances and store it in a dry and well-ventilated place.

Periodic inspection items when using a chain block
01. Operating condition
Please check the brake function of the hoist with light load. If there is any slip of the load do not operated the hoist. Brake discs and gear must be checked and replaced.
02. Appearance
Check if there is any deformation (bending, broken cracked, etc.) on the chain block. If there is any deformation, replace the pats before use.
03. Chain
Inspect chain at least once a month. Between regular inspections, check visually daily for nicks, gouges, weld splatter, corrosion of distorted links. Inspect chain thoroughly if it does not feed smoothly over load sheave. Please make sure load chain is properly lubricated

Depending on the oil lubrication, the life of the load chain can very up to 10times compared to non-oiled load chain.
If the load chain is worn or damaged, such as a wound, weld splatter, corrosion, distorted links or warping, it must be replaced immediately.
04. Hook
Check condition of hook safety latch and operation. Damaged safety latches must be replaced. Damaged worn, cracked or deformed hook must be replaced.
If the hook is deformed, damaged, cracked or worn, replace it immediately.
3. Regular inspection items (chain / hook)
1. Chain
Using a chain gauge, measure the diameter and pitch of the chain, and check the wear and deformation.
After checking the wear and deformation, measure the length of 11 links of the chain with a vernier caliper. If the wear has increased by more than 3% replace the lad chain
2. Hook
Measure the size of the opening of the hook and refer to the standard table and replace the hook if the throad opening has increased by more than 5%.
