Arguably the best tutor Rob.So humbly 'bares all'. Must hasten to add, a fantastic singer as well. What a combo! Incidentally, I have somewhat mastered THE BOXER, MORNING HAS BROKEN(complete with piano solo on guitar) the lesson U so painstakingly taught. My little audience were enthralled.Did attribute my performance to you.You go brother!!!!!
I am an experienced guitar player but I just love the way you teach your stuff. I also find that going back to basics is never a bad idea. Well done mate.
This is a very good lesson, for several reasons. I'm an old singer/songwriter/guitar player who cut his teeth on the blues. I still like the blues, but man-o-man, it seems like the whole world (so to speak) is blues crazy. Blues, blues, blues. Well, especially for the songwriter and in general, knowing chords like these can really expand your horizons. "Standards" use them a lot.
The Maj7 shape at 4:35... it just frankly doesn't sound good. It has major 7th right next to the root, which makes it sound weird. I think there are other, better shapes available, well, unless you're just playing an arpeggio
Like I said, it’s not a very common shape, I would always use the A string barre version over this. Still, the goal for this session is to study each of the natural major 7 shapes in their open positions, so I needed to teach it.
