I guess ET must be in dire straits for them to do this to their best employee. Same thing happened to my ex-father in law (he was an engineer at a tv station) when he was about your age. He decided to start his own radio station. It took a few years, but the radio station has a stable midsize following. He says getting laid off was the best thing that could have happened to him.
