I'm a Reiko main. When I play any Sub Zero player. I make sure to be the aggressor and mix it up without being punished so easily. It's game over if you let Sub be the aggressor. Great Vid! I hit the like button.
That’s interesting, at least in my Grandmaster level the zoning and keep away Reikos stomp me while aggressive ones I tend to stomp as their command grabs, and slide all get hard countered by Sub’s klone. Could just be me though.
As a Sub zero main, as minor as it seems i do appreciate the attempt to make him slightly better but dammit the new enhanced ice klones keep screwing up my air kombos/juggles. Its annoying but guess ill have to hit the lab again & practice.. 😢 still really cool they added Deadly alliance sub zero glowy blue-ish eyes back. He looks badass with it.
I don’t think the three clone for 1 bar is a glitch, when you do that the first clone goes away the normal time frame only the two in the air stay for a longer duration, I think it’s meant to be like that, to give sub options depending on what character your fighting, three clones 1 breaks armor and freezes or 1 amp clone and clone punch breaks armor for most, this was a good buff for sub
I thought he meant the glitch was them staying in clone freez longer. I didn't see that in the patch notes but I did see triple clone 1 bar in the patch notes
@@skyline1613 exactly, I don’t think it’s a glitch or anything, that’s how it’s supposed to be, which is good, takes a little bit of getting used to because we were not used to using amp clone, but it definitely useful now, not a wasted move, 1 bar is what ex clone should have been to begin with, should also have armor but they not going to give sub everything
Good stuff.Also one thing I noticed that I don't think has anything to do with the patch is that when u hit the opponent and his cameo with any button and cancel into df4 the recovery is the same it would be if the df4 whiffed instead of hitting.Its a small difference but if u do s2df4 and hits the cameo as well the b2 doesn't combo.
Yeah no. Just no. Yes, it's a good set up, but any character can do things like this with lao, it's no infinite, and it's not unstoppable, mainly because meter will run out, and it will become a guessing game again. So calling it a TOD and saying sz mains ask for too much when a) no sz main asked for this and b) most characters have this form of setup, is just silly at best.
It's still really damn good, don't get me wrong. I can't even deny how stupid it is when all sz mains wanted was either a change to his mid, a bit more DMG, or slightly speed up the b2 so it's a real mix. My point is that it isn't fair to mention what sub players ask for when this had nothing to do with what they asked for.
@@Light50977 I agree with you on this. I’m a sub main, I have a list of things I want but am thankful for what we got so far. However I believe scorpion reaaalllly needs some attention. His whole chip game-plan was taken away and now he’s reduced to fish for spear and burn the meter. Or play the weakest strike/throw game I’ve ever seen.
Do you dash after the jump 2 1 to get that ice clone to land cuz everytime I try it it’s not working or even if I just do it without a dash I can’t land it but I see you and other good sun zeros always landing that shit is the timing clunky or something?
hope the changes stick and we can get a little more. then i'd feel pretty good about where subzero is at. Little bit longer freeze duration on iceball for example. Cool to see it on clone though.
@@innrchakraIf he is able to freeze for longer and they make him a little bit safer, that wouldn't matter as much, because he'd finally be able to do more and make up for that. The main reason he is bottom teir isn't just because of his damage. In my opinion, the primary reason is because of how unsafe and slow he is.
Atvleast they gave him something, cus sheesh its a struggle. But tbh really dope set up, but i hate kameo kung lao too much that i won't be rushing to use this tech.
This kinda fucked up my timings, now a lot of times I do the one bar 3 clones by mistake a lot of times because I was used to press the block right after using the clone, I need to adapt bow but it's not being easy tbh, I am not the best player so yeah my muscle memory is all fucked up now
You know it's funny. I don't think that this is a thing that we aren't supposed to have because of the fact that the clones dissipate faster with 1 bar
Stryker isn't bad for sub. Being forced to guess high or low off every interaction isn't awful even if the damage is low. You can combo into iceball for meterless damage higher than subs basic bnb's or combo off dive kick with b2
@StoneCold-Stutter Tom said the dmg isn't really the problem. It's bad, but he has some quality of life issues to address first, and then his dmg is second. It's easy to see that they don't want him hitting for 500 because of the type of character he is. Stryker is cool but you miss out on setplay. Also, Tom doesn't play sub zero in the air and do dive kicks all day.
@@sonofaballer96 he likes his hard to blockable low hat and I’m not hating on it. That’s his game plan. I enjoy using Sonya,Stryker, Lao,&sareena with sub. But I don’t just play sub. If I just played one character and one cameo in a game’s lifespan . I’d get angry at the game probably too
The problem is that subzero doesn’t really have any mixup and mixups that are only possible by bad on my net code are not legit code. It’s like smoke trying to tell you that he has an overhead and low mixup, even though he’s not invisible, which we know is only a thing online. Subzero does not have any real mix unless you have low hat to have them guess which one will hit first. On its own his low and overhead are not actually guesses unless the Internet makes it so you cannot react even though you see the overhead. Subzero has no real pressure and no real guessing games on his own which is why striker is not a good choice because even with striker, you have no legit pressure that actually opens people up.
I saw the setup as you were talking about it. When u have him frozen mid-air try to get that low hat out faster so when he thaws out and falls that it hits and lets you still juggle them then you might be able to loop the opponent that would be insane I might go see if it works myself 😅
I think the gravity would be too high to get anything that would outdamage the normal route. Plus if you were gonna use a kameo to extend from the klone, you could just use Lao spin which gives a high launch that isn't affected by gravity, which you should be able to get at least a J12 into something from, maybe a J21. If the hat kept the juggle after klone, I dont think they're high enough to get any air combos
Bro I lost because doing the multiple clones for one bar threw me the F off.. I was under the impression that Sub didn’t get any changes so I went playing per usual.. and it kept happening by accident. Definitely gotta lab some more.. I usually use Double Sub as my main team but I also use Sektor and Serena as well.. Don’t wanna hop on the Lao train but illlab it anyway incase I fight some prick who thinks he’s good but really isn’t.
I don't like the change to his clone. The duration is shorter and I keep accidentally doing the multiple clones after immediately pressing block. This never used to happen before. I use Sektor as my main Kameo and he definitely got buffed,thankfully!! His flamethrower has more plus frames and is good for corner combos. It also keeps the opponent stunned for longer so you can actually hit them.
I noticed this immediately as well. Alot of accidental ex clones, might be just needing to tee in muscle memory to keep away from block so fast but it's annoying and dangerous actually.

I wish... I wish... I wish that I could muster up enough ꞙꭒꞇks to give MK1 and the MK franchise. Ever since MK11, the brand has diminished beyond redemption; and I feel genuinely embarrassed to even be associated with the game any longer... Heck, even the story and character retcons have ruined what I once held dear in the MK universe. I find it difficult to see any future for MK1 -- the game is just too uninspired, on too many levels; and coupled with WB moving the franchise to a "games as a service" model, I'll no longer be the target market for NRS's wares anyway. I'm afraid MK1 could end up being the final "Fatality" for the Mortal Kombat franchise... At least, until the I. P. is removed from WB-NRS greed, apathetic, simian paws ⚰😑
stuff like this will always be found with the broken kameo system they created a never ending rabbit hole that will need constant patching for literal years id rather they just left this game as the broken mess it is and work on MK2 with its own engine learning from all the mistakes of the trainwreck that is MK1/injustice 3 reskinned

Why does other characters have a decent or fast overhead but sub has the slowest and most punishable also it shows opponents poking through the ice clone and they don’t even get frozen like their hitbox is going through it but nothing…smoke for example they think it’s fair to make us guess 50/50s while he’s invisible and even if u block correctly u won’t know if u can punish him or not plus he always has meter bc of the cancels which means he can always do a random armor attack and instantly keep going invis and this is with other characters too mk1 is even more gimmicky than mk11 and it’s crazy that you need to have 3 bars of meter and kameo meter just to break away so even if u have 3 bars but u don’t have kameo u still have to eat the full combo and can’t break
bro and in general use for tremor his kameo sucks ass still. That 100 health shit was only a buff for reiko players. Legit no one else has synergy with him.
@@Mr_Wht Balance is not only about damage potential in combos. It is about how many turns you get, how much damage you get from zoning, how good your whiff punishing is, how well you can play the staggering game, how good your frame traps are, how much psychological pressure you can establish, and so on and so forth. If you balanced the game exclusively around combo damage, noone would play this game because it would be broken.
The B2 change IS in fact documented in the patch notes and the 1 bar ice klone is not a glitch "Sub-Zero Spinal Tap (Back + Back Punch) now cancels 1 frame earlier and has 1 more active frame on second attack Enhanced Ice Klone can now be performed for 1 bar of Meter & then further Enhanced to leave 2 additional Klones for an additional bar of Meter, otherwise leaving only 1 Klone that lasts for a longer time"

frost setup with the iceball move: subzero back 2 (two times) air jump 2+1 land ice clone call out frost iceball projectile while opponent is froze mid air for safety one ice ball is out time with hit to snub armor or if they block grab to freeze them. if they back up enhance subzero slide flicks them right into the iceball
