This hotel is the first in a series of five hotel reviews from Arenal in Majorca, four were booked as All - Inclusive and one half board, when booking these AI hotels through Booking.com there was no mention on their booking page about alcohol limitations at various resorts and accommodations only once booked did a receive an email direct from the hotels explaining the change in the law on AI, this I feel is a cop out for AI Hotels ( LAW = Limit alcoholic drinks in AI Hotels but you can buy as much alcohol as you like from the same hotels bars) this should be mentioned on the booking page next to the AI room charge, tell me what you think.

All meals plus six alcoholic drinks, unlimited soft drinks, tea and coffee with reasonable room, large balcony and decent pool area for £54 per day sounds great value. The six limit makes sense to me as people tend to overindulge more when they perceive that something is 'free'. Creating a limit will help reduce the excesses of binge drinking - which can only be a good thing.

I think that is good value and looks a handy area-3 drinks is ok-head out and explore after dinner lunch? No?-i am an oldie though-wouldn't be going to clubs etc-ha ha-hoping you're going to do a tour of the areas

Wow yeah defo not all inclusive, what a strange rule cos as you say people can still get sloshed as they can still buy as much alcohol as they want in the hotel thus not really minimizing the anti-social behaviour caused by drink. It kinda looks like it's just a strategy in these areas to make more profit. Apart from that, the hotel was nice and good value, great video as always 👍

We had a holiday in majorca, which was ruined by a group of young people who came back to the apartments drunk, roudy and destructive , throwing chairs in the pool , and keeping us all awake all night ! Good for majorca I say !

There not clamping don't on drinking there clamping down on only all inclusive so it's not gonna stop them getting drunk if their staying in apartments

Fair enough as long as it's clear what you get. Think you should be able to have the 6 drinks anytime you choose not just at mealtimes though.

It's not a ripoff when you have been warned by your travel agency, there's a law about it, and there's info right at the reception. Been there, know what I'm speaking about, and in the webpage there's even an explanation. So not a rip-off if you know beforehand (If your travel's agency did not warn you is their fault, they're are obliged to do so). .... And if someone is curious, it's BOIB Decree Law 1/2020

Yes she did. Misleading headline really the rules are not the hotels fault. Me and my partner were there a couple of years ago couldn't fault it really, don't need more than 3 drinks with meals, food was good and varied and really close to the beach. Mixture of people when we were there

Its funny how in the 70s as children on holiday with your parents, that the TV wasn't ever a requirement! The room was seen as a place to sleep only and we never missed it, just went to bed and enjoyed everything else. The room wasn't as important . No aircon , just use a single sheet and a breeze from the patio doors being open. I don't drink anymore but it could be seen as a culture change and they may change the wording from all inclusive if we complain enough. Alcohol Isnt important to me ,so I would see all inclusive meant non alcoholic drinks and food. Either way we are used to thinking all inclusive means loads of alcohol. Perhaps they are sick of sick and antisocial behaviour? Perhaps 3 drinks should be seen as enough?? Just my humble thoughts. I've seen the devastation alcohol causes . Would be nice to think its because they care and aren't just doing it for profit. 😊

Tracy that's my point they are doing it for profit, charging people for All-inclusive on the booking, then making them pay when they arrive if they want to drink out of their government ruling, they aren't clamping down on anti-social behaviour because you can drink yourself silly if you want to pay for something that one time meant all-inclusive

All inclusive has never appealed to me anyway I don't see the point in seeing how much alcohol you can tip down your throat because you don't have to pay for it and that's what a lot of folks do sadly. I'm not anti drinking but I have seen what heavy drinking does to people most of my working life if all inclusive includes unlimited soft drinks and ice creams then it can still be a good deal as ice creams and soft drinks are expensive in Spain especially if you have children.

3 very small glasses of beer or wine and they have to be served to you via staff so they can tick your allowance card off

Hiya Paul, Playa de Palma is the only other place with the new alcohol law in force on Majorca & yes it only applies to Shagaluf & Arenal respectively as you correctly said looking fwd to viewing many more of your vids you're a far better host than all of those awful telly ones we have these days you're a good Lad love the Scousers Ricky Glasgow

Hiya Paul ☺️ The hotel looks good, nice and clean it looks budget but the price is good value for money despite the alcoholic bevvy heist. The Diddymen could just about fit in that bath, What a beautiful day to get in a pint sized bath without puking up the not all inclusive booze. It should be made very clear what all inclusive entails. When you went up to the roof area the buildings reminded me of down town Los Angeles, it looked quite built up. Travel disruption sounds exhausting, I'd be really interested to see a behind the scenes video of what It takes to make a video! Take care ❤️ x

Hey Paul ty very much for making us aware...its definitely misleading if you want to enjoy a drink off meal times it would be OK for us as we don't really drink anymore but see how others can be affected and all inclusive just takes your mind off worrying about additional costs especially if going as a family etc... Has anything changed ref the kids ice cream and snacks etc do you know? Great vid as always I'm a huge fan ❤❤❤❤

Spanish are eating there so that tells me the food can't be that bad..even though the eggs looked nuked. Good value for money for all the basics and looks pretty clean. Couple of nights would be the max for me. Enjoying your vids, thanks👍🏻

Basic but clean bath was hilarious but I would not back to majorca unless they reduced price on inclusive hotels we've been to for 7 nights was ĵust over 2 thousand and 3 drinks each at meals is a 👎 thanks Paul ❤️ ❤

The term is misleading and they should just say full-board, half-board or, simply, breakfast included. There's then no expectation of alcoholic drinks being included in the price. Alcohol is cheaper in Spain and the measures very generous. Quite honestly, although you missed the evening meal, that price was pretty reasonable even by Spanish standards. Nothing in the UK compares. You can pay that for room-only off-peak in a substandard British guesthouse. Looking forward to your upcoming videos!

Hi Paul, i cannot say I'm surprised, they are trying to stop drinking. It's the way they are going about it. Surely there must be a fairer way that that. That is just going to cause more problems. They will be drinking more in the rooms. That isn't going to solve anything. The hotel was ok, the food didn't look very advertising. Thanks Paul.

If the TV doesn't have UK channels it would be useful to know if it has Chromecast or a spare HDMI socket. Presumably you can access BBC iplayer on your phone over the free WiFi? Would be interesting what internet speed you get on the free WiFi too. These things would help to differentiate the suitablility of one hotel over another if they're similarly priced.

This is something you would have to take up direct with the hotels website, I am an independent travel reviewer not paid by any hotels that I review so I have to draw a line somewhere on my content , I give basic hotel info

Hotel grounds very bright welcoming looked lovely. Food was nice looking, eggs were obviously cooked byTyson Fury during fight training. The curry? Didn't look appetising. The view from the balcony, the out lying area and buildings looked run down. Some not completed. 😳

I agree is but of a rip off when pay all inclusive should include much alcohol as anyone wants then only release when get there only allowed 3 alcohol drinks yet trying clamp down on hen/stag do,s when buy much alcohol as you want doesn’t make sense what government doing there. Least had nice clean&comfortable room good selection food&drink good hotel facilities&good price. for your one night stay overall very good look forward to your next video👍 If I’ve already messaged apologies for this.

I never expect alcohol included except for a nominal amount. Thy should have a disclaimer tho and make sense customers know, no alcohol. Hotels could never afford what people will drink when it free.

All - Inclusive and it isn't must be against trades descriptions act? They need to re word the brochures etc. People if they have any sense will not put money over the bar in the hotel but if they are buying drinks do it in the surrounding bars etc.. There is also the option of buying booze from a supermarket and drinking it on your balcony or in your room. Three drink per meal is binge drinking lol.

Majorca has been trying to get rid of the 1980s tabloid image of Magalluf and Arenal for about the last 20 years hoping they would appeal more to family tourism. Anybody who goes to Magalluf still expecting a “wild” anything goes sort of holiday will be very disappointed. Ironically mobile phones and social media have done more to tame Magalluf than Calvia council could ever do.

Hi Paul. I just can't get over the 'fact' that all-inclusive doesnt necessarily mean all-inclusive. It's so bizzare. I think someone, somewhere is missing the meaning of 'all'! There is absolutely no way it's because of excessive drinking. If that was the case, they wouldnt 'sell it' either. Someone really needs to have a word.

You must have missed a meal as you were delayed, so for one it was not such a good deal. But the room has to be cleaned whether used by one or two, so the price will reflect this. As for the fewer drinks included, if you go knowing about it, then you can't grumble. The sensible drinkers suffer because of those who don't know when to stop. 😏😊

The laws have changed around alchohol, to try and crack down on the younger people mainly causing problems , but as you say they are buying, maybe management think well i.m not adding to the problems by providing the drinks free Sorry didnt like this hotel, your room stark and basic poor bathroom, but price ok.😊 😊😊

The clampdown on 'all inclusive' drinks came into force in 2020. Even in the 1980's nobody in their right mind went to S'Arenal or Magaluf unless they couldn't survive 5 mins without alcohol - both places have always had a poor reputation for drunken & lewd behaviour by tourists.
