Thank you for your great tutorial. I just found your channel and really enjoyed it! I live in WI and we are expecting eleven inches of snow. I am retired and thought I could look in my stash and sew tomorrow. Thanks for sharing! Laurie
Oh my goodness! Eleven inches of snow! I grew up in Indiana, so I know what that's like, but I'm happy snow is a rarity in Texas. This table runner would also look really good in a scrappy version. Happy sewing!
Very pretty runner. I have been looking for a new pattern and really like this one. Your instructions are very clear and easy to follow, glad I found your channel. Thanks!
I started quilting last April and am obsessed, I retired 14 years ago, not sure what took me so long to try quilting. I am going to make your table runner, that you for sharing.
That's awesome! I got into quilting back in 2002 when my aunt invited me to a quilting class at a local quilt store. I often tease her by saying she's responsible for my addiction. 🤣 Thanks for watching!
My husband is my enabler, he said he wanted a house filled with quilts. So in less than a year I have made 16 quilts & 10 table runners. He has gotten me every supply I could possibly want 🥰 but I told him no long arm at my age. I quilt on my large hoop embroidery machine and larger projects I send out. I am having too much fun buying fabric and piecing quilt tops.
Lori, I've recently stumbled onto your channel and have enjoyed your style of approach to quilting. You are very informative and neat in your approach to whatever you are making. Bernadette Banner and Missouri Star are both favorites of mine as well as Donna of Jordan Fabrics. Looking forward to more videos. Good luck on your retirement.
Thank you so very much for this beautiful table runner idea! Your fabric choices were top notch for me! And you did a fine job explaining. Hubby was fine.
You are very creative! Love this pattern & your color choices. I think the foot is called stitch in the ditch foot??? At least that's what it's called for a Brothers machine. Happy Sewing ♥️ 🧵🪡
My sister sent me a picture of the table runner that she wanted me to make for her. I've looked for months and now I have found you. Thank heavens . ! So now off to hopefully get one as beautiful as yours.
Yes, it can be tricky! That's why I leave them all laid out as I sew. Using a design board helps. I still managed to turn one the wrong way and didn't notice until I was quilting it! 🤣 Too late! I left it as is!
Beautiful table table runnere and with your instructions it seems pretty easy to make. I became one of your subscribers and I think it's a good thing. Bye and thank you.
Thank you for this tutorial. I have been looking for this pattern also. what is the measurement of the triangle fabric or how do you determine the measurement to cut the triangle fabric?
I first cut a square of 5.5" fabric and then cut that in half on the diagonal. That gives you a triangle that is very slightly bigger than you need, but I feel like I get a better result if I cut it bigger and trim it down after it's sewn. I hope that helps! Thanks for watching!
That’s a “stitch in the ditch” presser foot. I use mine often but have never seen it used in this way. An old quilter, I’m always learning. And your explanation of mitering corners that are not right angles was teriffic.
Sew a bunch of the small colored squares to white background squares. Sew the corresponding rectangle to make a 4-1/2”. Repeat using the left over colored squares in place of the background squares. Cut triangle edge pieces. Lay it out on point. Sew into rows. Sew together rows. Add edges. Quilt. Bind. Right?
I spray it for a couple of reasons. The setting triangles are cut on the bias, so they get a bit wavy with the handling they go through with sewing the rows together. So starching helps prevent pleats when I sew the borders on. Also, it helps keep the fabric really flat during the quilting process, so I don't get any wrinkles or pleats. I feel like it helps me get a slightly more accurate result--but like most things in quilting, it's personal preference.
@victoriamurphy3771 Hello! I use a water soluble marking pen to draw out my designs. There are several brands, like Marks B Gon, and they all work equally well. What you see me spraying here is water to remove some of the quilt design marks that I had missed previously. I don't always spray the marks away. Sometimes, I leave them till the end and then put the whole project into the washing machine. Thanks for watching!
I don't exactly have a pattern, but I put the fabric requirements in the description box. If you have any questions about what I wrote there, let me know, and I'll do my best to answer.
@@loriar1027 I will go in and find it. If my memory serves me right it was on one of the Triple plays tutorials. I believe it was Natalie who made a table runner. I have been looking at some many during this heat wave. Once sites I have looked at have been Jordans Fabric, Missouri Star Fabric, Fat Quarter Fabric and Teresa Down under. But am sure it is Triple Play Tutorial Missouri Star.
That really sounds horrible! I’m just waiting on my house to sell then moving to central Texas. Hate to hear I’m moving from crappy weather in Pa to the same in Tx!
It's actually not bad compared to up north. I grew up in Indiana, and I love the weather here in Texas. We do get one or two weather events each winter that close schools and highways, but they only last a day or two. And as a northerner, you'll laugh at what kind of weather shuts things down here.
What is the name of the pattern on Etsy? I love this design. I have left over charm squares and want to use them up. I love the video, but it moves quick enough that I can’t confirm the placement of the 1/2 strips and quarter strips as well as the screen timeout. If I could just get a picture of the completed runner that would meet my needs. Just want to refer to it as I put things together.
I just found you, and I'm so glad I did! Not only are you informative, but it is also easy to follow your directions. Thank you for a great video! ✂️🪡📏🧵
