Most service providers are now designing their sims with the mico-sim press out from the normal size sim. The micro-sim will pop back into the frame for normal use if required. Just ask your provider. In the UK GiffGaff linked to O2 are providing this service now.
this is the perfect video-just what i was looking for! Bought a Iphone 4 on Craigslist and need a micro-sim from my sim card now!! Thanks so much for the helpful hints!! :)
so if i were to get a iphone 4 and i have a iphone 3g right now can i use my same sim card and put it in the iphone 4 by just cutting it to microsim size? and everything will be the same with my contacts still in it? thank you
You can hand cut it, if you have a premade one with your phone just line them up and either use scissors or something else because as you can see there was a tiny white line on one side still. It might not work so you MAY need a new one. I can't guarantee anything...
wow this is really helpful, just bought myself one, thanks for the video man. i was planning on buying a iphone but im not eligible so my friend is going to buy one and i was going to switch Sim cards but i didn't no the Sim cards were that small. so i bought one
If you dont have an adapter look around in junk drawers for old disused sims and replace the micro part with the sim you want, can be fiddly but works ok.
Sure, this is a professional way, but I just made a template of my micro sim on a normal sim, then cut the template out and stuck the micro sim on the cutout older/larger sim card. Works like a charm, and not I will have my old iPhone to use while the new one is being repaired. Genius! Anyways, this is a great product nonetheless
my t-mobile sim card's metal part isnt as big as the one in the video... mine is a fairly newer one. (2011 i got it). From what it looks like it should work? I hope... i plan on buying this.
it doesnt matter if you cut some of the connectors plus, you can just use scissors to cut away excess plastic (and connectors) just tried with "over sized connectors" -sim card and works fine with iphone4
In my county you can only have the iphone on T-mobile, i am from croatia, europe, and iphone 4 is coming to my country in autumn, but i am not sure about all the SIM cards i think our users only have the standard large ones so w8 for some i phone hardware updates till autumn
@AppleMaster10 Yes your plan/usage and limits are linked to your account not the device. you can also just buy a micro sim from londondrugs for $10 other rogers dealers will also have them then call rogers to activate it.
@THE1FBI This was the case with all the previous iPhones. I'm not sure if it's the same with the iPhone 4, since John has mentioned that there's no simlock on the iPhone 4. I haven't veryfied yet.
@Mr1Runescape2 idk about the incredible but on regualr verizon phones, you can send audio files to yourself in a text message and then set that as the ringtone. but for this method they have to be below a certain size or you cant send it
@holypredator While the iPhone 4 may not have the most ground-breaking specs, it performs extremely well, and in a very tiny package. The HTC EVO has way more room for components.
all new T-Mobile sim cards since APRIL 2010 use the same contact points used in a micro sim so you can use this with T-Mobile sim cards from after APRIL 2010
I have an old Cingular card with a big data point, and I just cut it with scissors and all I'm left with it the data point, and it works just fine in my iPhone 4. Avoiding upgrading cause $10 unlimited data lol.
I have the cutter and the adaptor. The cutter works well but i really HATE the adaptors! its so hard to put the sim adaptor with a micro sim into your phone
@martinw917 He doesn't buy them himself, companies send them to him for free to review and sometimes he gets to keep them, other times he has to send them back. I do beta testing and it's like what Jon does, but I'm not aloud to tell anyone about them lol
