As an author I am jealous of your ability to draw, but I totally understand what you are saying. I always wanted to be a writer but I thought it would happen after I retired instead of as my career. Life throws us curve balls though and I've had to learn as I go, and step out of my comfort zone. Honestly, so much of what you are saying here is true for me as well. I hope everything works out for you and that life becomes an experience.

i have a similar reason as to why i started working on my webtoon (i loved creating stories, and i loved drawing, for the longest time i thought i would be an animator or something but that wasn't a "real job" according to my South Asian Parents who come from a STEM background), and you're right, the reason i started working on my webtoon NOW rather than before was bc of the fear of the unknown, and staying in my comfort zone. as a recent graduate, and job searching not resulting in anything made me SO anxious of what the future holds. Even though my webtoon idea was on the back burner, i decided that in between applying to diff jobs i should atleast start my webtoon!

Y’know it takes a lot of effort to talk about your life. I am also working on my social anxiety I don’t like to talk to people or be in a room by myself especially boys, I am currently in 9th grade and ever sense I jumped off a cliff in a previous vacation I’ve been more open with trying new things and also being confident as well. I’m still a little closed off but I’ve learned to that protecting myself also means putting your self out there. After watching this video I’ve learned that I’m not alone. Not only am I working on myself but also on a webtoon as well. Sooo thank you

Honestly as a 30 year old I needed to hear this. During this video I was agreeing with everything you were saying. I've been feeling like this for the past few years. I don't think the pandemic helped me in anyway either. I used to be very outgoing as an undergraduate but since moving back home I've regressed slightly and become used to my comfort zone. I know it is scary to get out of your comfort zone and trust me I've had some moments that have been scary and not great but overall its' the best thing for you. I needed this video to remind myself of that as I start a new chapter in my life in the next month or so. Thanks for the reminder and this video Nina! Can't wait for more :)

Next month i’m starting my exchange semester in france and i‘m so scared! Scared of living away from my family and being alone for the first time. Scared of meeting new people and of being in a new environment. Scared of being not good enough and to fail. I too struggle with anxiety but i‘m working on myself. I want to become stronger and i know that these changes will help me with that. I'm an introvert but i have a lot of friends. everytime they invite me to go somewhere or hang out especially if it's last minute, I'll bail or not show up. just because I tolerate myself to hide and be in my comfort zone (which is my home). but I realize that I'm only making excuses and procrastinating. and before making or doing something, I always think of the worst-case scenario and if it's not that bad then I'll do it cause why not?

Hi nina! I was hoping you could maybe go more in depth about growing as a person and how you managed to do that. You mentioned some things in this vid like missing ikr on opportunities out of fear and that’s just one of the things I can relate to, I feel like the “old” you is kind of how I’m right now in a lot of aspects of my life, I have a lot of self doubt and always “play it safe”, so I would love some advice on how to overcome these things I got a bit personal here lol but it doesn’t hurt to ask right?

I have a procrastination to start my webtoon/manga, because of other works and money. I don’t know how to document and start them how process. We only have one life to one live why not do things you love to do. How do you become disciplined and keep mindset focus?

I posted my first episode back in March. And I stopped. It took a month for one five panels. And coloring is just the hardest to figure out. I may delete and come back to it at a later time when I figured everything out, but I just got so angry about how easy it seemed for some creators. 😓
