No. The head monk of Korea has support him and officially gave him the title to keep his concert. His headphone was given by the head monk of Korea himself. The Heart Sutra says that Things are Not different. This DJ is walking on the Right path of Budhism. If people dance to his chant of Heart Sutra, it is a prayer. Wonhyo, the revered monk of 7th century of Korea did similar things for people, chanting only one sentence f sutra and dancing around the street.

At a Korean Buddhist fair, there was a section made of chocolate Buddhas where people could consume the chocolate Buddhas. When an elderly Buddhist woman asked, "How can you consume the Buddha in such a vulgar manner?" the monk replied, "Buddha is the enlightened one and is not confined to any particular form." In Korean Mahayana Buddhism, the form does not matter. The principles matter.

@Isl33p Buddhist scriptures will indicate ways of cultivation. The book on Journey to the Under-world will indicate the consequences of the wrong ways of cultivation. If a buddhist is not cultivating accordingly as Buddha's teachings, he or she will have to face the consequences. Using own ways and misleading others on Buddha's teachings will also face the consequences.

The middle path of the buddha is the most rational and correct method of escaping the cycle of life.

He is not Theravada. He is Mahayana. Theravada Buddhism does not allow dances & stuff. But Mahayana allows it. At a Korean Mahayana Buddhist fair, there was a section with chocolate Buddhas where people could consume them. There's a story about a Korean Buddhist Monk named Wonhyo. He was traveling through mountains in China and faced a storm, so he had to seek shelter in the caves. Thirsty, he found a gourd of water and drank it, finding it refreshing. The following day, he discovered the gourd was a skull filled with dirty water. This realization shocked him, leading to his enlightenment: that the mind creates distinctions where there are none. Wonhyo understood that enlightenment comes from within and is not dependent on external circumstances. So, there are no one true way.

He did not. He never forbade anything. It was tradition that monks came up with themselves not from buddha. Example the tibetan buddism which is the closest to original has masked dances for monks to celebrate things. Even in India and nepal monks can dance. You just inherited from some tight @ss order of monks. Original monks are chill like that .

Theravada and Mahayana buddhism are different. Mahayana allows stuff like this because, in their view, Enlightenment comes in many forms, and dancing might be one of them.

@Isl33p To follow Buddha's teachings according to the scriptures will be a safe way of cultivation. Not following blindly on one's cultures or one's teaching as these are not stated in Buddha's teachings. Following Buddha's teachings will lad you to be nearer to Buddha. Alot of people just follow blindly on cultures and old folks' sayings without checking on Buddha scriptures.
