That little black hand is just adorable. I'm glad to see there are still people (and companies) with some real human spirit left on them. Congrats.

I hope someone in your customer relations department has made contact with VA hospitals or the Wounded Warrior project. There are so many ex-soldiers that could benefit from your amazing work in prosthetics. The more I read up in this contest, the more I find brilliant technological breakthroughs for everyday people in need. Best of luck to you guys.

Losing a limb, or being born without one, is a life altering experience, not too long 'till it won't be a problem anymore. This company is doing an amazing contribution to mankind.

Dear Mr. Gibbard. My name is Ruba Haji Ali from Syria. I am a fourth year medical student in Damascus university. I am very interested in your Open Hand Project because I believe It does a big favor for the people here in Syria, especially those who lost a limb or two during the current crisis in Syria. Unfortunately my friend is one of those war’s victims. She lost her hand because of bomb blast last year. That’s why, I am trying to get her smile back by making an open hand project for her. I have bought all the material mentioned in list in the excel file “Bill of Material” and EMG with sensors, but I am facing some difficulties in connecting the circuit, so I would appreciate if you can kindly guide me on how to build the circuit. Looking forward to hearing from you, Sincerely, Ruba

I question a lot of the time what is good about technological advancement. People are running after the baubles and bright lights and losing a connection to the physical world. I have to say this is just brilliant, the idea that peoples lives can be changed at such a low cost. With the plastics it seem very asthetically pleasing as well. kudos

it would be really cool to make it so it can bend backwards and rotate more than a hand, making it way easier to use screwdrivers and such

That's so awesome now just add an "optional chip" with a wearable sensor on the other hand so people with prosthetics can type or even play instruments and you blow the market away and help so many people. I would love to help but I don't have a degree in anything in only an "idea guy" ps add USB port so they could download a program to help them play songs that were already written

***** Edison board is making it possible for the average individual to live a life they couldn't before. Match this up with 3D printing and medical costs will go down *AND THEY DID* . Thank you .

1 pound? holy shit. I could probably go to a dollar store and buy that. They'd probably sell it somewhat higher if they'd want to make just a little more profit, but even so that's INSANELY cheap.....maybe I'd get one of those, just for the novelty of it.
