Clever concept! You have a huge potential market in the US & Canada, but I am in Australia & fighting the 2 devils of exchange rate & especially postage costs. As wood workers, we could easily knock the box together, so you could offer a flat pack consisting of the acrylic plates for the router, the rings & emailed pdf templates.

GREAT design. As peterkelly says below, there are several advantages if you offer a flat pack with plans for the box. Your time goes down, COST goes down and profit goes UP. After all, if we are purchasing this device, we should be able to make a wooden box.

Great design! Consider the traditional archery market for making arrow shafting. Normally only 3 sizes: 23/64, 11/32 and 5/16.

Nice work, but I like the pencil sharpener type of dowel maker better. They're much simpler and cheaper. All you need is a block of wood and a sharp blade. And they make shavings instead of dust.

can you add a bit position indicator on the acrylic plates so people don't need to look through the holes to positon the router bit? I.e. a tic mark on the plate holding the trim rouiter and a scale on the bottom plate mark where each dowel size would be.

Haha! I just have to fulfill the orders I have now and then it will be back up. Out of curiosity, what metric dowel sizes would you want? (there's positions for 8 sizes)
