【パソコン】, I believe, is short for 【パーソナルコンピューター】 (Personal Computer), kinda like the abbreviation we have, "PC".

A lot of them are kinda like portmanteau (e.g., PASOKON = PASANARU KONPYUUTAA, POKEMON = POKETTO MONSTA--).

... Y'all know what KY commonly means in the United States, ね?
