Facts, like the entire “players league” narrative is overrated. Teams like that last a year or two but teams like the Bucks, Warriors, Spurs & Miami are teams who allow their players to have input but also trust the organization.

This current system is built on a falsehood. When LeBron and Bosh went to Miami, they said their motivation was Boston's "Big 3" at the time. But Boston's Big 3 we're put together by the front office like any other group of teammates, there was no planning between Ray Allen and KG ahead of time. And now 10 years latter, the Nets are showing how flawed it is to have superstars building teams.

Kyrie had been my fave player to watch for yrs, kD is a fave player of mine but Harden and Ben, nah. All of them have varying issues underneath that can be and have been detrimental to teams wigh Kyrie leading the pack with his toxicity.

It's a good hill to die on and I'm glad someone did it and I respect Kyrie for standing up for what he believes in because a lot of people believe the same and the New York vaccine mandate was an absurd government overreach into people's rights of bodily autonomy as well as religious rights. They wouldn't even let him get tested to play. It was vax or nothing, so stupid, authoritarian and unnecessary. Before everybody goes hating on Kyrie, remember that none of this would have happened without the policy decision that created the situation. Many people stood up to the mandate and got fired or penalized, and Kyrie is just one of the famous ones. I am glad the vaccine mandate damaged New York in terms of tourism revenue to see the Nets. Maybe it will stop decisions like that from being made in the future. Big deal, the ball team didn't win. This is bigger than that. Kyrie stood up for his beliefs, knowing he would take a lot of damage and get a lot of hate for it.

Count up the players on the other 29 teams and you end up with 50 or more players in this generation of players people keep call once in a generation. Basketball will continue to produce more all time talents, because the talent pool is widening, and compared to earlier eras, many players are comparable to their very best.
