I love your full video tutorials much better than the ones where the instructions are on the side of the screen. I love your teaching style. You have such a wonderfully calm soothing voice. It makes it easier to learn and follow the tutorial. Also I like to just plug in my ear buds, close my eyes and listen during my treatment. It makes the IVs easier to get through. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.❤

This is the same pendant as the little aquamarine you were asking about for faceted stones... just bring the heart shoulders into the stone more... this one I left them flared out a bit and then coiled around... the other one, the frame shoulders were very close to the stone.

Thanks, Pamela, these are from Etsy, ... GemPlus24 is the shop name and this is 1.2mm Copper Ball chain FACET... they have a lot of chains. I got the other ball chain here too, the one that's patina but not faceted. Its on a spool, just fyi, I didn't buy finished chains. Here is their link... www.etsy.com/shop/gemplus24?ref=yr_purchases

@PerfectlyTwistedJewelry
@PerfectlyTwistedJewelry Год назад
Thank you, Anita! You can find Faceted Round Gemstones all over Etsy... these are just glass ones that I do tutorials with... I actually got them from an old scarf pin that I found at a consignment shop or something... I pried them gems out of it since it had a lot of different shapes... it was a leaf with a bunch of little green gems. But you can search Etsy for real ones too... I just like to do practice on glass. I get my real gemstones also from the gem and mineral shows, bead shows, etc that come through town. I hope that helps! If you're just looking for practice ones, you can even find them at the Hobby store or Craft stores too.

Would u trust this coil setting with more expensive gems will it hold tight so it doent come out ?
@PerfectlyTwistedJewelry
@PerfectlyTwistedJewelry Год назад
Great question, Karen! If it's a very high dollar gemstone, I would not wrap it in this design, I would build 'more' wire around it both in back for added security as well as on the sides for more design as well as security for the stone. I wouldn't expect it to fall out if I wrapped it, but I can not say this for your hands as I don't know your skill level. If not done properly, not done tight enough, not done with enough protection for a high dollar gem... I would always be safe and assume the stone can fall out. When I work with very high dollar gems, I do much more analysis, design and calculation than you see in this little free video. Having said that... I will also say that I trust my designs, yes, to hold most gemstones given normal wear and tear. If your gemstone is very high dollar, I would look into several of us teachers who offer settings... make sure to see all your options and then make the decision about how to set that gem. I would also get a comparable size glass gem and do practice. I am writing all this with the assumption that your gemstone is valuable not only in dollar but perhaps also in sentimental value. I hope this helps a bit! 🙏🌷💞

What did u mean when u said that u had to seal the chain?
@PerfectlyTwistedJewelry
@PerfectlyTwistedJewelry 10 месяцев назад
Hi Mandi! When we use metal that is natural but untreated, such as the copper you see me use in this and most of my tutorials, the metal reacts to skin over time and can darken and/or leave 'dirty' streaks on clothing etc... I seal the metals that I oxidize and polish out, using a product called ProtectaClear. It's a professional metal sealant and does protect the finish from further oxidation. Here is their page... www.everbritecoatings.com/jewelry/

I would like to practice wrapping 5mm faceted round stones (with point) as accent stones. It is almost impossible for me to get the stone to lie straight. The stone always turns and i don't know why. What could be the reason and what should i pay attention to or do differently?
@PerfectlyTwistedJewelry
@PerfectlyTwistedJewelry 7 месяцев назад
HI again, Eveline! It depends on how you are wrapping that little gem... there are many ways, so if you could tell me what wrap you're working on, then perhaps I can help out about why it's not centering... other then that, perhaps you should give prongs a try if you've not already? Here is Cleo... watch it and see if you think you might try to set the gem this way? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PUZ2jyh59Fs.html This technique is for a bit larger gemstone, so if yours are 5mm, you can do just 3 or 4 tiny prongs for the gem. So... the top of your faceted gemstone, where it slopes up to the Table (top flat surface), this is called the Crown of the gemstone... when you set the gem, be it in prongs or wrap around techniques, such as Avaline, I always look at it 'sideways' so I can see the Table of the gemstone from the side... this view will help you see if you have it level in the wire. If you only view it from the top down, it's harder to see. You apply very gentle adjusting pressure to the wires to level the gem where it's needed. I hope that helps... again, I don't know what technique you're working with, so let me know if this helped you or if you have more questions. Thanks again, Eveline! Also, it might be how you are handing the gemstone... try tweezers or fine flat pliers to pick it up and set it into the wires... I lay it down, point up, I use gem tweezers, pick it up from the sides, turn it and set the point into the wire. Easier said than done, even with a tweezers for 5mm stones... but it helps! :D If you are channel setting them... handle them with tweezers and check out your latest Membership video for the Opal and Sapphire channel set pendant... I show how I handle the tiny Sapphires and channel set them. It might help also. Here is a link to that video... the Channel setting part anyway, this whole pendant is 6 part video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2-LlXh3DuAU.htmlsi=soff65CMY2bQ8cNG

@@PerfectlyTwistedJewelryi tried the method of "avaline". It was not a problem, to set the stone in the loop and i could wrap the wire around the stone. But with each movement the stone turns. So i set the stone straight again and a few seconds the stone has turned again. I would like to learn set stones with prongs. But how can i know what the right length of the prongs is. It depends on the stone how long prongs must be. The measure of the stones is different and so probably also the prongs are longer or shorter, so that the prongs don't reach to the table. I haven't already a mesuring instrument to measure the stone (like you use in your video "cleo"). It would be great to practice different methods to set stones. So i could use different methods. Over and over again i see that my stone has turned when i lift my thumb. I'll try to see from the side. To many pressure could be a problem. I have to try to use less pressure. I have seen your video with the opal and sapphire. But i didn't try yet. I have to buy tweezers. And then i would like to try it. I don't know if i have a chance to succeed. I began wrapping this year. But i'll try it nevertheless. I have already tried your "trillion-video" and i succeeded. It would be interesting to know if it is possible to use trillions as accent stones and how to do it. I hope you can understand what i wright. Deepl doesn't work at the moment.
