In this video we use our 20x10x1" silicone cross mold to create a straight wood and epoxy resin cross. We then use our collection of cross shaped router templates to further refine the shape using a router table and flush trim bit. This system allows you to cast a wood and resin cross then make it more unique with one of our cross shaped templates.

By using hot glue, I realize you can separate a wood piece from the template by using a putty knife or something similar. So, what is the best procedure (i,e., sanding, scraping, etc.) to protect the template from any possible damage when removing hot glue afterwards?

To be honest I have never had an issue removing the hot glue from a template. It just peels off the acrylic. Keep in mind however between applying the hot glue, routering, then removing the template, you are looking at the span of 20-30 minutes. We arent leaving it overnight. I would take the glue off right away. Further, scratching the template doesnt damage it or affect its performance. As long as there are no gouges around the perimeter, its fine to reuse over and over.

What blades are you using in your DeWalt 735 planer? Sstraight or helical head?
@CraftedElements
@CraftedElements 2 года назад
The blades that come with it, straight 3 blade system. Not a helical head.

@@CraftedElements Thank you... I am thinking of changing from straight to helical, just trying to find someone who does a lot of epoxy planing with the helical head, and get their feedback.

Hello. Why do you make such crosses? Where are they used?
@CraftedElements

We make them to demo how to use our cross system. They are purely decorative.... or for warding off vampires.
