I always freeze some of the tea in ice cube trays and use those in the tea so they don’t dilute the flavor. Looks yummy.

I need to research these teas more. I have a girlfriend I’ve had for 50+ years. She makes potions and teas and they are really wonderful. Thanks for the inspiration. Happy Independence Day! 👏🏻💕🇺🇸

A thought struck me when you mentioned/pointed out that the color did not change to suggest a diffision of essential ingredients didn't transpire. I recall I use a blender to liquify and a tea sieve to strain out the grinds. I've become so habituated at that I was scarcely conscious of it. It can boost the flavor/s (and pigments) to mechanically discharge the plant's cellular contents into the fluid solvent.

If you crush the leaves before putting in the water, you will get more flavor. ;)

So glad you posted this! I really need to take advantage of my herbs and huge honeysuckle. Are all types of lavender edible?

Where did you learn about herbal teas? Growing many different herbs this year and would love to know combinations with what I have available.

Really just the world wide web. I'm not much of a reader of books, but I also have Amy Fewell'sl Homestead Herbal Remedy book that's super informative. You can find on Amazon 😉 see our link in description.

Mrs. 1870's wouldn't have been better either to chop or pull all of the herbs apart to impart more of the flavors and benefits to the tea Ma'am??

I use my pickle packer from masontops to muddle the herbs in the jar before making the tea, but I have never thought to make sun tea instead of brewing with hot water! Thanks so much Ms. Rachael!!
