Something else ppl can do is EQ ambient sounds to remove some volume from them at the vocal range. Make some headroom. It'll make the dialog more clear.
You are the first person I've seen that compresses the way I do. Most I've seen do a 4:1 at -12db Threshold. I like a 2:1 at -20db Threshold, with a soft knee of 3db, so the whole thing gets brought down more subtly, instead of acting like a limiter.
Thank you so much! Absolutely great content! Between Nectar Plus and Neutron advanced which one would you choose for processing audiobook/podcasting/voiceover? Also do you recommend Waves desser?
I haven't personally used the Waves De-Esser, so I can't comment on that. Generally I would recommend Nectar specifically for dialogue/vocal work, but I'm not the biggest fan of its compressor, so I'd recommend using a separate compressor like Waves Renaissance Vox, or just getting Neutron.
If you measure the distance between the eyes multiply by the ratio of forehead to eyes and eyes to mouth, and divide by the length of neck, we get 6' 7"
