Just picked up the GP10 this afternoon and these tips you've shared have helped me become quickly reacquainted. I've owned a 7 Black and a Session (lost both and all my kit ☹) and now only have the 10 to play with. I'm a newb for the most part for video but understand somewhat iso and shutter speed from digital still photography when I used a Canon 20D. I'm also very slow at editing and never got into it for the required time sink. Soooo... guess I'm gonna try again but still only with Cyberlink PowerDirector for cost control. Thanks for the ideas for slick shots and for the settings tips. Looking forward to another go to get into the hobby as a casual user. /cheers! Happy this was able to help man! 💯✔️🔥And as long as you export as 1080, it will upload as such. On RU-vid, it usually takes a bit to process before the option shows.

When shooting at 4K at 120 frames per second and you put it on a 24 p timeline does it slow down the footage or just convert it so it works on the same timeline?
It stays/plays at normal speed on a 24 fps timeline, however, you now just have the option to slow down that footage without any stuttering to 20% because you shot it in 120 fps!

Were ND filter used? Doubling the shutter speed only works if using ND filters unless you get lucky and the lighting outside is perfect for the shutter speed.
No, not in this video, I just ran the shutter speed up if I needed to. Though that didn’t really happen much as it was a cloudier day so I was able to for the most part simply double my shutter speed!

Thank you, I appreciate the kind thoughts my friend! And I shoot 24 if know im definitely not slowing the video down (ex: talking heads, vlogging talks, etc). Though sometimes I shoot 30 fps, because I work in a 24fps timeline in premiere, in case I may want to slow something down a little bit (ex: Broll of me walking to the next location, detail shots, etc). Though in general, both 24 & 30 are fantastic for general footage! Hopefully this helps!
I would say once you’ve learned the basics of editing (keyframing, cutting/trimming tips) is definitely Davinci Resolve! It’s free and gives you the ability to do more complex editing as you get better! 💯✔️🔥
In this case, it really wasn’t that much different, other than turning the greenish shadows to more blue! San Diego sunsets are insane in color as it is 💯✔️🔥

I've heard polar pro is good for uv/nd filters! For my gopro, I use freewell nd filters! Well, I recorded 5K 60 with shutter at 120, and the video is totally burned. impossible to recover with FCP, too bad. So better let it at Auto, I realized too late.
If by Alpha, you mean my Sony cameras I used to shoot everything besides the gopro footage, then I simply shot at a shutter speed that was double my frame rate (ex: in this video, mostly 24fps so 1/48 shutter speed)!
Hey man question I shot it exactly as you said with the same settings... but when I exported it to apple photos I am only able to play them in the 4x slowmo is there a solution to revert it back to the original speed? Please help and thank you-Im on Final Cut Pro btw
Hey bro, if the video was fine after you exported it, then it’s probably something in apple photos. But if the issue is the export, then make sure you’re exporting from a 24 fps timeline and the final export settings are 24 fps!

Unless your gopro is broken, the only thing I could suggest is make sure your shutter speed is at least twice the fps (30fps = 1/60 shutter, 60 fps = 1/120 shutter, etc…)
@@ConceptNewEra So you shot with auto shutter? Im planning to go to disney this week and just seem like a hassle dealing with the NDs while I'm in and out of attractions. I usually take my videos with ND, but was wondering how good they could come out with the gopro with just some minor setting adjustments.
@@mackopr I never shoot auto shutter, all the settings I normally shoot with are the ones I mentioned in this video (I always try to go full manual)! As for your Disney, what I would do, is just set up 2 full manual profiles. One for typical outdoors (this would just be my 5K 24 fps profile). And then tune that for darker scenarios in another profile, and just switch between those as I go in and out of rides! Hopefully that helps! 💯✔️🔥
