😂 the cat swished past perfectly with the clean chorus, I've been messing with that detune/chorus for creepy clean finger picking, but I like a subtle digital chorus with my rythum distortion tones.
Hey Leon, it looks like you outlined a running bug with the delays at 9:27 ?? it was substantially louder with the mix at 50%. Regardless, purchased your Block library because I care. :)
Hi LT, Well, being an 80/90's wanker loved all of that. I'm a bit partial to the WDW + dual stage mixer setup. Separate Mod and Pitch processors fed from the dry feed 100% wet, with mutable dry signal coming into Mix. The output of Mix 1 fed into separate delay and reverb processors 100% wet, a mutable feed from Mix 1 out to Mix 2 in. Depending upon how the mutable feeds are implemented helps vary the strength of the pitched or mod affected signal coming out of Mix 2, which sounds in parallel with the dry center cab. I've replicated this whole rig in the AxeFx Ultra and AxeFXii.
Killer Vid Leon, very comprehensive lots of pedal sounds I wasn't even aware of, out of all of them I've always liked the Boss Dimension as an allrounder for stereo spread, I used to own the old Boss CE20 back in he day and from memory, the Rich mode with the brilliance, depth and level maxed out, blows everything I've ever heard out of the water rack or not, meaning in stereo spread with no modulation, it did have some background hiss but so stunning a sound it was worth the flogging, Man you're Cat runs the house !, Ha ha ha ha !!!
I really do appreciate you sharing your library, I can't even imagine the time put in for all of these. The prob is once imported, I can't tell mine from yours *"LT* MXR 126 Doubler" would keep me from taking credit for your work, just like you name your "LT TV Mix 7" Truely an absolutely indispensable part of the fractal community... i'm talking about the cat butt, of course.
Awesome & loved all the riffs especially the King's X & Winger ones. Can you explain why the ADA Analog Chorus was actually a stereo effect afterall, & sounded great by the way. I wouldn't normally look for that as an effect as it says it is mono.
Any of the types listed as "mono" sum the input to the effect, whereas "stereo" types don't. The output of the mono blocks can be phase reversed on one side hence the wide stereo output.
I played with my new strat last night for four hours before I realized it was that late. 😂. I've found that the stainless frets take me a little getting used to because they are so slippery and it doesn't take as much effort to bend them compared to the regular frets. I love the micro pitch and a tad bit of reverb and a little bit of delay. Then a boost for leads and I'm in sludge rock heaven. 😂
it's hard to pick a fave out of these.. leaning towards the Boss Dimension C III which I have in my Blocks Library thanks to you amigo.. good stuff all!
Great video and the cat approved of the micro pitch which I love too! The chorus does make the guitar sound so big. I think I need to buy the micro pitch pedal.. Unless I end up with an FM3. I've been waiting to get a used one and they are starting to come down in price a little on reverb as some are going to the FM9. Man, that just sounds so good. I love that black single cut PRS and the DGT which is probably one of the best guitars sold now and recently. ❤ Very cool sir. ❤❤ I don't care what anyone says, fractals effects and amps are all stellar. You don't have to worry about effects not sounding as good as old pedals or racks. The fractal sounds as good or better❤...I can see why you went down that rabbit hole sir. 😂❤... Be well my brother. I'm off to my six months heart doctor check up so we can tell jokes and argue about me smoking cigarettes. 😂. He tells me how bad it is for me and I tell him the nagging is worse. 😂.. Man, great times and playing brother. ❤ Be safe. Tim. ❤
Great video as usual Leon - thx! Just a query. In the Modulation page of the Dual Detune block, have you set Input Mode to Stereo or just left it at Mono?
I always enjoyed putting an analog chorus in front of a clean amp or channel with a low rate and high intensity. You might revisit the chorusing ability of the Eventide H-3000 units inserted into a stereo FX loop. Running both together is pretty wild, as is calibrating a flanger to perform chorusing duties. Lots of options there. Cheers~
The one thing that's surprised me with fractal is that they've never added a "doubler" block. People keep being creative to find workarounds, but I feel like it's a pretty big request that's yet to be answered.
@LeonTodd 1. Once again love when your cat makes video bombs. 2. When you made that "Stanky Tones" video yesterday my skin is still crawling and I love how you said it made you cat mad. HA HAAAA!!!!
I absolutely adore the spx90 pitch change C, I found it subtler in this demo than the others which I think is great cause it just adds something without dramatically changing things. I’ve been using it as my exclusive wider block (after an always on t.c. Mimiq 😅) since grabbing your blocks library! Btw does the available library get updated often?
@LeonTodd it really is, love the old rack gear emulations, even though I have no way to verify them beyond thinking you seem like a trustworthy gentleman
Heeeey Leon, fractal comment, question, I bought an axefx3 about 1 1/2 years ago or so and instantly hated it Could not dial in a decent sound I’ve bought presets and irs but nada, just not sounding good as I have posted many, many times FF to last night after a show I was speaking the guitarist playing in our opening act who is a fractal fanatic And frankly he sounded pretty good as he using an fx9 So he was good enough to come over to help setup and see what’s I was bitching about this afternoon He brought and Axe3 first run and it sounds amazing through my system! He also could not get my box to sound 1/2 as good, just thin, phasey and digital We matched every setting It’s clear now that this has to be a bum unit from day one I simply never had met anyone before that used the Fractal products to compare What would you do?
I think the Chorus and Detune only really make your guitar sound bigger in Stereo, although the Boss CE2 waza has a thicker sound than the original. I have the Keeley double tracker, awesome in stereo. The axefx does sound bigger!
I have a fractal but im trying to get a wide stereo sound on a new pedal board build using a tonex as the amp tones, i have a evh chorus and thinking about the boss sde evh delay to get me in the ball park!
Hi Leon...i still not understand where the chorus has to be placed on a crunch sound.. My reference is Petrucci.. He has two boss in front ( the dc2 and ce1) but he always used the 2290 in the rack...any clue? Thanks
