Hey man, absolutely! Actually been subscribing for a long time, but I've barely been able to watch videos from any youtubers the past couple of months, so kind of forgot whom did what. But absolutely love your channel! :D
10 points to you! :D Ah, that is very cool! The first King's Field released in the west is one of my absolute favourite games of all time! I even made a kraken miniature, but I managed to break it, so it's not in the video, hehe!
This was Fimo clay, which you need to bake. Though honestly, Das air dry clay would definitely have been better for this purpose. I just didn't have access to that(or a substitute) at the time. ;)
@@TheCreativeKobold Thanks for answering. Based on your experience, how durable would you say das clay is once dry? When I tried it, I made a few small cubes, they turned out more resistant than I thought (I dropped one out a 2nd floor window and it didn't break), but I'm not too sure if the same could be said for more complex shapes (like a miniature).
While I don't really have any experience with that brand specifically, I've used other brands of air dry clay. But from my experience, though absolutely not equal, clay is still clay. It can definitely break, because it is a naturally porous and somewhat brittle medium. Mostly it shouldn't be a problem if you're careful with the finished product. However, epoxy based putties like Green Stuff or Milliput should be more suited for making 28mm scale minis. :)
Dude, thank you! :D I'm just sad my KF Kraken miniature broke some time before I made this video, because I was really happy with that one, and didn't get to include it. ;)
Hi, sorry for the late reply. Seems I've gotten a few comments without notice. :) Dude, that would be so cool! If you do it, please let me know! I'd love to see it. :D
Hey man, thanks! :D Kalameet is very reminiscent of Guyra(the dragon I've sculpted) in From Software's earlier title, King's Field - Guyra being the original creator of the Moonlight Sword. :D
As for tutorials - probably not for this guy specifically, as he's already done - and I've no time to make another one just for the sake of it. But I'll definitely be making more creature crafting/sculpting videos. :)
Hm..Thats an idea i never considered, usually i cant find air-drying clay so i completely ignored it. Cheers! Oh and wish you a Merry Christmas if you see it in time! Some folks use pure sillicone or latex and flour( cant recall exactly which variety for moulds, but will also be perfect for this.) Have you tried using plaster bandages ? Ill try making myconid civilisations these days, aswell as a Goblin cave. (And a WW2 forest ambush, trees and brushes are arriving soon)
Hope you find some and get crafting! :D I've tried making moulds using silicone and dish soap with some success. Never used plaster bandages, though. :) Sounds like you've got some cool projects ahead of you! :D Have a merry Christmas! :)
The Creative Kobold I meant It as using for making the muniatures themselves, not the moulds.(Not really easy lol) Curious how hell of a task it would be to find a paint that doesnt peel off .
The Creative Kobold Thanks, that will proly save me alot of angst ! Have you heard of water-soluable enamels? Recently added to my local home improvement store(has a kid toy on the box so it works on wood, no idea on plastic Found a conversion website so ill be able to mix pretty much any colour. Found a wood stain that is an amazing wash, now im going to try using that paint.
That is actually very close! They're from the PS1 From Software game King's Field(Spiritual predecessor to the Souls series), where the dragon is Guyra - the yin to Seath's yang. ;)
Hahaha! Not Nintendo! I can say that they've made some games in the recent years that are generally considered the most difficult games ever. ;) (But those games are not the actual game which these minis come from.)
