Cheesecloth & Bowl
Jar w/ Tight-Fitting Lid
Small Bottle
Medley of Great-Smelling Flowers, Fruits and/or Spices
Mortar & Pestle (Spoon & Cutting Board)
Steps
1. Find Your Flowers
2. Choose Citrus Fruit
3. Find Your Spice
4. Smash Your Medley
5. Soak Medley in Oil
6. Wait
7. Strain Medley
8. Add Base Oil
9. Bottle Up Perfume

I remember a few years ago this girl was bullying me and said that I smelled bad so I went home and grabbed an empty perfume bottle and I filled it up with the worst smelling this I could find and the next day I threw the bottle in her backpack with the lid open a little bit. Oops #NoRegrets

the plants should be dry. adding any water to oil creates a breeding ground for bacteria.

A another way: Get flower petals from a random flower 🌺 then put it in a bowl and add 80% water and 20% rubbing alcohol. Mush it and let it sit for 5 minutes. Drain into a bowl. Then pour it into a spray bottle and done!!💜

Well, it was quite a few years back. I was (still am) saving this little bottle of Windsong perfume that only had a drop (if that) of perfume left in the bottle. I was wondering how I couldl prolong the life of the rest of the perfume. I ended up discovering Rubbing Alcolhol (70% at the time, now I use 91%) works very well to prolong the life of genuine perfume, essential oils (eo's) or whatever you have that smells good...even your, "medley" would work! I made some really great smelling room spray just using the Rubbing Alcohol and some sage leaves! OMG!!! Sooo wonderful! TFS luv! ♥ dig

Add a little wax, pour into a small tin or small lidded jar, and you can make a solid perfume :) love that combination, you're so creative!!!!!

Soak vanilla bean and sweet smelling rose petals and if you can freesias in water for around 3-4 days tgen thank me later

I made a blend of rose and lavender and i put water and the blend inside a coffee filter, making it a way faster version. After all the water filtered through, i squeezed the excess out and put it into the perfume bottle. It was very strong, just how i like it. If you like strong and not watered down or subtle perfume like me, use this method.

You can use Vodka or Gin which will remove the oily step and it will be ready in 48hrs, however, I am going for the six months by adding something floral, herbal, fruity or wood scent once a week. Great video

I will definitely have a go tomorrow. Also, I use this way. I get a normal spray bottle (medium sized) Put hair condition gel and hand lotion- add water. Mix. Done! Its been working fine and doesn't dry my skin :D It smells lovely, depending on the scent of your conditioner.

When u spray that on your wrist for instance... will it not make that part oily because the base is oil. Imagine that sprayed on your dress.. n that part of the dress kinda becomes oily...

Does anyone know any alternatives to oil? Maybe commercial perfumes use some oil but I can't imagine they use much, otherwise my clothes would be badly stained by now. Also, is it really necessary to use a full 3 cups of medley? I want to make a perfume scented with anise stars, cloves, and cardamom pods, which are rather potent spices. And what would be the best way to use tea in the medley? If I used tea, would it color the perfume and leave stains? Lol sorry for so many questions.

i like to make my own cosmetics either for myself or for selling them. but i just do this simply by mixing storebought cosmetics that are as cheap but as of highest quality for its price as possible (like elf and bys cosmetics) and mix them and voila. but i wanted to start from scratch so ive come to find your channel and now im subscribed to it!! Vanilla and lemon/citrus is a really nice scent, and the soft vanilla kinda tones down the harshness of the citrus smell. Also, peanut goes well with vanilla. Maybe I just like vanilla? Lol.

Loved it! Oh and to everyone asking to substitute oils, do not use anything but what she suggested. Vegetable oil is bad for your skin, the oils she described are very good for you, and no they don't leave you oily, because they are light oils and provide many benefits to your hair, skin, and nails beyond making perfume. You can find the oils at any grocery store and supplies, I suggest walmart. Be resourceful my D.I.Yista's and always do your research before putting anything on your skin!

I tried your process with lilies, ginger, lemon peel and grapeseed oil (we were making rose perfume in class but I wanted to try different methods). However, I waited about 4 weeks (out of sight...) and I did open the jar a couple of times to smell what was happening. When I opened it up this morning there was a little bit of rancidity to it, though I was impressed that at the bottom of the jar it actually smelled like something alcohol. I guess my question is - did the rancid smell come from my having opened the jar early...and not putting it into the fridge after; or did it happen because I left the oil for 4 weeks instead of two? What do you think? Thanks.

I used a red and pink rose tock some water let the flower die in the water then put them in a spray bottle I gavel mine to my aunt and mom they said it smelled great and it really did

My way too make perfume! Step 1: take scented lotion and warm water and melt them together Step 2: take 4 flowers and with your melted mixture crush up the flowers and put them in the lotion and water Step 3:put the whole mixture in a jar for a week just wait then pour the liquid through a straner Step 4:put your liquid in a bottle it will smell so good!!!

lol when I was 5 I took rose petals and put it in water for overnight it didn't work lol but later I put in leaves and glitter and put it in a potion bottle and I took it to school and everyone thought it would turn you into a fairy.. I was obsessed with magical things and potions and Disney

I put some rose petals in boiling water, sifted it and squeezed the color out of the rose petals so it was pink, and put it in the fridge and ta-da!!

You can use essential oils with some alcohol and water. It sprays out fine and isn't super oily.
