Need a new gasket for something, learn how to make your own food grade silicon gasket cheaply and easily. Food Grade Silicone: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01...
Beautiful work! I’m making a much smaller gasket but the technique will transfer perfectly. The only source of the gasket I need that I can find wants about $50 CAD before taxes and shipping. Going into this I thought I might be spending more like $5… So this seems like a good skill to build.
I'm trying to make a gasket for a tactix storage box to use as a vacuum box to store 3d filament which is hygroscopic. Normally I have success using cling wrap on the box then expanding foam in the lid and lock it down. It's not working so I decided to try silicone using vasoline as a separating agent on the box. I didn't leave it long enough to cure (needs more than 3 days due to depth of cure apparently! Big mess and I suspect I'll be needing to rip it out. I've learned a lot from your video in terms of ideas - thanks :).
Hi, sorry for the slow reply, our new Brewery is well underway and we are very busy at the moment with the new building fit out. Once we get the chance I will out together a follow up video, but it is still working well.
