Thank you, Chef John! Before I found your channel, I couldn't make toast. Now I make dinner for my family every night and my kids eat REAL food! You deserve some sort of educator award. Mad props, bro!
+EpicBeard86 My dad taught me all growing up and now im in college eating something other than ramen noodles cause i can cook efficiently. Cooking is a priceless knowledge to have. It's such a great thing that's slowly dying in the modern home. Props to you!
2021: It's on sale every other week at 66 cents a bottle (I bought a case today in Palm Springs). And this is one thing I'm just too damn lazy to make.
It's like how I am fully convinced those sped up cooking videos on Facebook are paid by coconut oil companies, because they always use coconut oil where any kind of oil would work
Cayenne is actually very good for you and would go very well in a sports drink. It's very cleansing. That's why it's a very important ingredients to a lot of healthy juices and smoothies as well as the Master Cleanse.
Just FYI for anyone who sees this: If you don’t want to buy processed calcium supplement, you can use eggshells! Just boil a few minutes to sterilize them, let them dry and grind them up. Works just as well as the brand name stuff.
Personally.... I've always found John's voice upbeat... cheerful... & comforting... Sooooooo... Those of you that just have to have some thing derogatory to say.... Save it...he is performing a great service...and I'm thankful that he cares enough to share!!!
His voice annoyed the hell out of me when I first discovered Chef John, but his recipes and methods kept me coming back. I was a fool. I totally admit it. I find his voice so comforting that I can't imagine a week without him, and I often go to his older videos just to hear him speak. Total convert!
So the only constant here is that no matter what happens your ego remains inflated, high horse unaffected, bathwater lovingly bottled for future self-consumption? (Something tells me you watch Rick and Morty)
ML Isaacs - I’ve watched at least one hundred of chef Johns videos and read through comments as well. Never seen anyone complain about his voice or anything else for that matter. The guy is loved and admired by all. Why do you make a big deal over something that is nonexistent. You’re a troublemaker.
@@Sussy-hotdog I usually dont reply to people but dude you can littlerly just scroll down a little into the comments section and read people say he sounds annoying, couldn't finish the video because of his voice, or questioning why he talks like that. It's not nonexistent and it's clear as day that these comments exist. obviously because his voice is distinct and unique compared to others there is always going to be people that don't like it and say it in hopes that he stops. Though I do disagree with a lot of those his voice grew on me and I oddly enjoy it, to me he just sounds happy all the time.
George Jiang add 1/3 a cup of water. Don't worry we'll add more later this will just dissolve the ingredients Now add some cayenne Heat it on the stove. Not enough for it to simmer just to dissolve it. Add 4 more cups of water and as always Enjooooy
Actually, where I live, the cheapest salt they sell at the market is dried ocean seawater stuff. If you dissolve some in plain water, you'll find fine grains of sand at the bottom. Stuff's crunchy!
+henry kingfire, seriously, Gatorade was invented by folks at U Florida! And, Tang (if people still know what that stuff is) was invented by folks down at NASA in the olden days when it was still mostly a Florida operation. Yes, I'm an old Floridian!
+Christine King We know. You aren't the last. We have stories to tell. Gatorade was a big deal, until John found a way to make it for less at home. Tang... is Tang. I never did get a chance to try that NASA freeze-dried ice cream.
+Your Mum bitch not even in the ghetto would they drink that. just water is fine. historically the deal with low income families is they make with what they have to make something that tastes good. (gumbo and the like aren't to my personal tastes but it's like that)
Man, so many mean comments about Chef John's voice. He can't exactly change the way he speaks, and he shouldn't have to...he's the one providing the free, great content, so thanks Chef John!
On the go, simplified recipe I use: - Fill water bottle - Add Lemon or Lime juice (I get the large cheap bottles of it), freshly squeezed would be nicer but trying to reduce time and had a lot of them go bad. - Pink Himalayan sea salt (two turns) Shake it up. This is what I make for my tennis matches. If I need a boost beforehand, I'll get caffine through a pre-workout, energy drink, or espresso. If I'm picking up a pre-workout, I'll consider getting a gatorade too if I didn't have time to make my own, or just for convenience. Lemon and lime are good sources of electrolytes. I would go with those and skip the orange juice, since the honey has already added sugar.
@@youngsuit : I have never bought bees honey in a store or supermarket, I always buy it at the farm and I see when they take the honey out of the box where the bees are.
Chef John, I've been in and out of the hospital all month with recent health issues and they've basically had me on a liquid diet the whole time. Your recipes and videos really get me through the day, and through the starvation, and through the terrible hospital food. Thank you 😊
me thinking I can make this drink first item:honey “I have that” next item:himalayan salt “I’m sure I’ll find it” other item: powdered calcium and magnesium me:what in the h-
I drink lots of water in summer, so I supplement my drink w/ a pinch of seasalt and a shot of lemon juice per cup. Total: about a quart. Better than taking salt tabs, better tasting, too.
There's LOADS of health benefits to cayenne pepper so I am glad to see you add it to almost everything. I do in almost everything, and sprinkled on ice cream (especially pralines & creme) is amazing! Love the video, and although I have made 'homemade Gatorade' before, I must try this one!! Great video!!
Chef John u could be a comediant as easily a chef u are now! Love ur sense of humor, tone of voice, good vibe mood n recipes all together!! Greetings from Argentina!!
"They: don't want us to be more efficient ppl, Chef John. "They" don't want us to eliminate the middle man and all cons that come with mass "manufactured food" in factories. *DJ Khaled voice*
My wife gets occasional leg and toe cramps in the middle of the night. I'm going to make her up a batch of this fine electrolyte concoction (maybe add some potassium to it). Chef John, you always outdo yourself. I love all of your recipes. The best thing is that you create all of your culinary magic adding a good dose of your own unique humor. You never fail to make me smile. Some of the best meals I've eaten were created using your recipes. Thank you.
This is such an excellent video. I've been spending so much money on Gatorade and other hydration products...never thought about making it on my own! Thanks so much!!👍
Thank you, Chef. I've been buying sports drinks for years! This will be fun for my toddler son and I to do together in the kitchen. Grateful for fun and easy to do recipes ^_^
Foodwishes drinking game: take 1 drink for every mention of cayenne. Take 4 drinks for every episode that doesn't mention cayenne. You will be equally drunk, and happy with every episode.
Your combination of nutrition wisdom, culinary creativity, delicious results & wit-filled humor is far-more valuable than offering it all to us mere YTers for free. Thank you so much for your kindness at doing so!
A 68yr elder Floridian-here, too, who's driven the horizon-to-horizon cane fields of central South Florida and cried. Lost nature & endless diabetes victims are the result of BIG SUGAR. Ugh....
highlights: "those are just rocks" and "good enough to be mistaken for artificial" i so appreciate you, your humor, and your videos! thanks once again!
My son was feeling really under the weather today & I had unknowingly exhausted my back up supply of Pedialyte/Gatorade. (My SO had the car & we live out in the middle of nowhere, so calling Lyft/Uber to the pharmacy to pick up more on the fly isn't an option). This did the trick Chef John, thank you :)
You know, I already liked this video. But these comments about the honey vs. sugar... I wish there was "Super Like" button. Thank you Chef John. I hope you keep producing great content!
CURE MY HANGOVER CHEF JOHN!!!! (hoping this does the trick) Also i made my first recipe from you last night, Guinness stew on mashed potatoes and it was truly one of the nicer meals ive experienced in my time. I can say that confidently. My mom said it was the best stew shes ever had (But take that with a 1/4 tsp of salt because I do demand compliments)
