I can't believe i just found this video!! I have an austic grandson and he eats NOTHING healthy or green. Wanna guess what I'll be doing as soon as my capsule kit gets here. I can't thank you enough!! I'll keep you posted on my Jacob!!
If you find that he won't take the capsules, sprinkle it in his food and mix it up. Over time, you'll bee adding a ton of nutrients without having issues. Start slow and work slowly up.
I have been buying Super Greenzone from Amazon for a long time. I am excited to grow, dry and pack my own green powder capsules. It will not only save money but it is gratifying knowing that I am using what God have placed on this earth for us to use. Thank you so much!
I have always had a problem with getting vegetables in my diet. So I dehydrated them and then powdered them.I put the powdered veggies into a salt shaker the kind you use at the stove when you are cooking You know the one with the bigger holes. I use this to sprinkle the veggies on my sandwich , soup , mashed potatoes. This way I get all my veggies and all the nutrition my body needs BUT be careful that you only dehydrate the vegetables on a low heat 98 degrees to sustain their nutritional value. It takes longer but it is well worth it. Good luck from Canada.
I did the same way. I used clear capsules. Also I bought a coffee grinder to make the powder finer. I filled with lettuce, spearmint, basil, and celery powders. All homegrown plants and air dried. The only green I used an oven (190 degrees) was the celery. Great greens!
I have Macular Degenerative Disease and I'm supposed eat dark leafy greens. I love them, however, you can only eat so much. This is the answer to that problem. I will definitely be ordering this kit. We alread have the dehydrator!!! Oh, my gosh, this is such a life saver!!!! I cannot tell you how much I appreciate you sharing this information with us!!!!!!
Thank you for this video. I have an indoor grow rack I will start growing kale and spinach. Reason is my outside garden requires the use of SEVEN to deter bugs and my indoor garden does not. I hate kale and spinach. But they are super foods my body needs. I already have a dehydrator and a magic bullet to make powders. I dehydrate strawberries and lemongrass, then powder, to make homemade tea bags from coffee filters. It tastes good with a packet of sweetnlow or sugar cube. I have a strawberry patch and huge pot of lemongrass in my garden. It’s two years old, I transfer it indoors when the weather gets cold, into a sunny window for winter. About every two months I cut the growth to make more tea bags. Staying healthy is hard!
I have been filling my capsules with my powdered up beets and some with powdered moringa. I have alot of dehydrated greens. So I will be powdering them like you did and capsuling them up. Excellent video!
Darcy, that is just about the coolest thing I've seen today. I'd love to be able to just swallow those powdered greens that I don't really enjoy eating. Thank you for the great demonstration and all the tips.
We're not a fan of greens, either, and even after putting the powder into all of our foods, this gives me a little more boost to make sure folks are getting as many as we can!
@@ThePurposefulPantry If you make these dehydrated powders, I really think you'd love using edible films! I also make my own powder blends. I've tried every way to ingest the gross tasting powders and blate papes (edible films) are hands down the best imo
I had no idea there were videos on this for a couple years or more. Thanks to your video, I “found” this project. I made the dried/ground veggie/greens but was hesitate to sprinkle anything on my food that might affect the taste! This is the solution - thank you so much for this. I made greens capsules this morning.
Fantastic! Putting green powder into your food (not just sprinkled on top) doesn't really affect the taste unless you put too much. But this is a great option to add even more to your daily diet!
@@ThePurposefulPantry Actually, it also solves the problem of indoor gardening. Just because I am caught up in the newness of it, I planted way more seeds than I can possibly eat before the produce goes bad after harvesting. Now I know...I'll dry them and "capsulize" them. No waste!
Thank you for this video! I just made my own green powder and turned them in supplements!! It's so easy! I love that I can put in them the things I need for my body and I know what is in them unlike the store bought ones. I already had all the dried ingredients I needed so making this was very very easy and very cheap compared to purchasing them! I focused on nutrition and anti-inflammatory. I used Spinach, Broccoli, Dandelion Leaves, Garlic, Cinnamon, Turmeric, and Ginger! Boy was it potent! I also added Spearmint because my son is fighting cancer and has a lot of intestinal issues and I thought that might help. We both need the extra nutrition, especially him. Thank you so much!
What a wonderful demonstration; you are so thorough. You take all the time needed to explain the whole process in all your videos and it is mightily appreciated. God bless you for your very useful teachings.
I have one of these and I don’t think I’d be a clear and concise with explaining to others how to use it as you did. I know this will help people who have not used one before.
Thank you so much for this video! My sister & I did 600 capsules (200 each of chlorella, spirulina, matcha). We'll be gradually adding them to our daily regimine. I will also be doing some green mixtures (broccoli, strawberry leaves, etc) soon; I already use some powders in my foods.
I think this is a great suggestion/idea. This is how I used to take Kratom when I need it for pain. And was thankful when I discovered making my own capsules because it tastes horrid! But I ended up having to find a different solution because for some reason they sat in my stomach/throat wrong. Don't know if it was because the gelatin to make the capsules is thicker, or made of something different .. I don't know. I even used the tiniest size and they still sat in my stomach wrong. But I have stomach issues to begin with. Now I use Japanese Oblique Discs (rice paper). For me, it's so much easier and faster, virtually tasteless and I have no stomach issues. I wrap up any where from an 1/8 to 1 teaspoon. Fold it like a ity bitty burrito and swallow it with water as usual each time I need a dose or fold up several. (Just can't have water on your hands or they melt)
You can buy most supplements online in bulk for way cheaper than in pills. This is a great approach. That pill-filling machine seems to be quite a bit more rare than I expected, though.
I can’t believe this I was watching a commercial about using greens in smoothies and I thought don’t like smoothies I wonder if I could put my dehydrated greens in my capsules. You just answered my question and will be making capsules tomorrow!!!!
I goofed when I went to my favorite herb store back east and didn't discover until I was across the country that I bought 00 capsules and an 0 machine. The veggie/fruit capsules are a good idea.
I was thinking of doing this with powdered white mulberry leaf for blood sugar control, I think it may be easieir to just keep the powder in a sealed container and use a baby spoon. But thanks for the video it made me not want to do the capsules.
I had an idea to do this and came upon your video. I clicked curious to see where you got your products from bc I had already searched on Amazon and couldn’t find anything. I thought I was dumb and didn’t know the correct name of what I was looking for or something but I’m glad you mentioned in the description that you to notice that they have removed capsule fillers. I wonder why.
Getting away from the concept of people creating their own medicine, I'm sure. It doesn't make sense, but that's the best that I could come up with about why they did. You can still get them from ebay and from health food stores/websites.
I’ve watched this video numerous times I love the fact that you can put your own green drink in it, but I need the smallest size, would that be the #3 size. I can’t swallow big capsules. What is the name of the machine. I did find them but there different size machines. I want to make sure I order the right one. Thank you, appreciated as always.
There is no right machine, Mary - you're looking for a capsule filler - they are no longer available on Amazon. There is a company called HerbAffair online that you can get them from.
A few months ago I started thinking about putting some of the powders in capsules but that is as far as I got. Thank you for sharing this. I don't know why I never thought of doing this until recently. I will have to research to find a contraption that will hold a much smaller size. If it doesn't make sense to take many many small capsules I will continue with dumping my powders in my food.
Dumping your powders in your food is the best way - but these can be a good boost when you need it. Remember - I put it in my notes - I made a mistake in sizing - it's size 1 that is smaller. Size 0 is the standard capsule size. 00 and 000 are larger.
Awesome video! Thank you so much! I've been struggling to figure out how to get veggies like spinach, kale, and broccoli as well as fruits on my 2650 mile hike next year. You are a life saver! Btw, your link for the filling machine isn't working but I eventually found it on Amazon.
Thank you thank you for giving me the phrase to type in Amazon, I was beating my head about how to get my mom to take diabetes herbal powder for a longggg time :)
Very well done. Thank you. I make suppliments myself. I like your larger system though lol. Easier to work with it looks like, and you can get more done.
Darcy, I have a hard time remembering to drink protein drinks and I just thought that maybe this would be a good way to get in extra protein. Would it? Also, what about other powders like Collegan and Fiber powder? Same thing maybe?
My first thought was Ground Control, Major Tom, and Protein Pills, but this is not the Space for that Oddity. Question..How well does the capsule dissolve in liquid, food or beverages when cooking if one wanted or needed to add a specific amount of spices, sweetener, nutrients, ect.. to a mix, meal or whatever concoction one needs to add it to. Good Video. Thank You...
Don't use the capsule to do that - that's when you just have the regular powder to add to anything you want to use. The powder is fiber and minerals/vitamins and doesn't dissolve the way the dissolvable supplements like AG1 or SuperBeets do. But if you're using them in everyday cooking/broths, it won't matter.
NOTE: Size 0 is what I used. I was incorrect in my sizing - go to a size 1 if you have trouble swallowing. Size 00 and 000 are larger capsules and take less to get the same equivalent! And the ratio is actually 1 TEASPOON = 7-8 capsules, not 1 tablespoon. I had it in my and when measuring, but kept reading it wrong :D :D :D :D I need more sleep! See the tutorial and get a printable how-to sheet on the blog: www.thepurposefulpantry.com/vegetable-powder-capsules/
I have done my own capsules for years now, with a capsule maker similar to yours... I buy my capsules by the gags of 5000 it is much cheaper that way. You can also use this capsule filler with oils, like oil tinctures. You simply put your oil in microwave to warm it a bit so it is more fluid and use a pipette to fill your capsules, then proceed the same way as with powder. I keep all my capsules in the freezer. The most common one I make and that we take everyday are moringa since it is higher in mineral and vitamin than all the vegetable and fruits put together... and turmeric ( which you need to mix with black pepper so that it be one bioavailable ) my husband and have been taking those daily for years now. My capsule are the double 00 so I need less in a day, as you mentioned. People would save a lot of money with all kind of unhealthy store bought capsules if they would make theirs own. Thank you for making this video, more propre needs to be educated on natural food and on healthy eating. I just found your channel today and subscribed. I am a retired RN from Ontario Canada ...I think I will learn many things here. My plan for today is to go back and watch your older videos... Stay warm, stay safe, may the Lord bless you and your family and keep you safe until He returns.
When you add the dehydrated greens that have oxalate and tannin in them, how do you get rid of it?? Does dehydrating get rid of it??. Just got my machine--just like yours. Can't wait to get started.😊
You can choose to blanch before if you prefer. But it's not necessary unless you have an ailment that requires is as we all generally eat raw leafy greens as salad. If you stay away from them entirely - blanch first.
Really helpful! I had the capsules and had tried to fill them by hand - NOT! I take psyllium every day and yet, I have a couple of big containers of the powder. This will make it work now. That price is very little compared to buying those 'green' powdered drinks to take every day. Also, couldn't you use those powders in casseroles, loafs, etc. maybe even baking. For fussy children, it might be a good way to get the benefits into their food without them actually having to eat their spinach.
I use green powders in everything we cook - every savory dish uses them to some extent or another. This is just one extra way to get more green in our diet when we feel we aren't getting enough.
The middle plate releases all the top capsules from the capping plate all over the place 5 times when I flipped it over. Yes, I’m using 00 capsules on the 00 machine. Anyone else have this going on?
I've never experienced that, so the only thing I can recommend is making sure they are completely aligned so that the capsules are inserted into each other. I've had a few capsules not work, but never whole trays.
I have a question about the dehydrated foods you have been making.. What fruits or vegetables do you find dehydrate the hardest. like the end result is very stiff and hard and holds its shape the best? Thank you so much!
Unfortunately, I can't. Amazon has pulled them from their site - you might be able to find them on ebay or at natural food stores. I also have a link to one in my blog post (in the description box)
I'm sorry - there's no way for me to tell you what you did wrong (if anything) when I can't see how you set it up. Any chance you had the plates backwards?
Darcy how did get into this. Is there books that do give ratios. I have always been interested in this but never knew how to start, the true benefits. Please share your thought process and how you got started. When I made my green powder I. Always thought I'd much rather just take a pill.
I went "green" crazy and dried a LOT of greens. The question now is, I want to powder them and make capsules. I know commercial products have preservatives in them, but these obviously won't. I want to seal the capsules in a Mason jar using my FoodSaver jar attachment. Do you know how shelf stable the capsules would be or if that's even doable?
I've just been on Amazon, but the link for the tray system you have no longer works. They don't appear to have anything close to it right now. I guess I'll keep drying my greens, and wait to find the system like yours.
Yes, I do believe that's in the description box that Amazon pulled them - you can find them on Ebay and at some health-food related websites and stores.
This is an awesome device and your video is very useful. I clicked on the Amazon link and it says page not found. I also can’t seem to find the brand name of the product to search it. Please send me the information ASAP. I have a dog needing to take Tylon powder (1/2 tsp). What size capsule do you recommend? Thanks
I can't recommend a capsule because I don't know the size of your dog and I am not a vet. But every time I find a new source on Amazon, it's removed. So I would look at natural health food stores online or on Ebay for the trays. Amazon has seemed to not allow them to be sold any longer.
Unfortunately - I've been chasing that link for weeks now. Amazon seems to have pulled all stock off their site. You can check Ebay or other websites that stock it. I'm sorry.
@@ThePurposefulPantry what are your thoughts about it? Sounds pretty good. Have some and is why I bought the pill maker you showed in one of your videos. It works well. Sort of got away from moringa though
Or you can just get Balance of Nature, take 3 capsules of the veggies and 3 capsules of the fruits and you’ve got your full 10 complete servings of fruits and veggies for the day!
They seem to have disappeared! There is a very similar version here: amzn.to/3glpOFu Make sure to choose the size you want to use. But the one I use from LeadLife is available on Ebay for about the same price.
