I love the Dubliners ,raw enthusiastic energy, however the Clancy's and Makem give us a more poetic sophisticated version of Irish folk, both are valued and treasured.

Wish I had met these two particularly Tommy Makem. They sang with such heartfelt spirit. This particular concert especially moves me. No better Irish songs with all its happiness and lamenting.

Still love these guys - brings happiness and sadness in their songs.

This is just about when I saw these two in Seattle; two very talented singers, and Tommy Makem wrote many rattlin' good songs. He truly was the Bard of Armagh. And Liam--there are no words for how sweet his voice was.

Irish music is proof England tried but never conquer Ireland though they tried everything including genocide starvation. The Clancy's and Tommy Maken gave North America and the world the terrible beauty that is Ireland as Yeats so well wrote it
