I have a brush kink 😂. I wash mine everyday and love gathering them, at least until the handle cracks . Thank you for this lovely video, this is fun it's like a lil Sephora shopping trip

Thanks for doing this, I've been looking forward to hearing your take on brushes. I do love the BK's for creams, and Sonia G for powders & creams, & WG for powder. Rephr 21 is an excellent brush, I like all the ones I've gotten from them so far (most)- you're right about the handles on the larger ones though. I regret not getting all the WG Artist brushes & am so glad I got his Air brush for powder. I also really like the Sydney Grace E07 small shader, it is awesome for packing & smudging & inner corner. That retired angled diffuser from Sephora looks amazing. The Beautylish Units & Beauty Pie brushes are all very good & great values.

if you are thinking of acquiring more BK eye brushes, I am a fan of the 211 detailed blender for gentle, non finger application of glitter topper shadows, similar to how you use that Surratt shader brush for shimmers. Just something about how small it is, and that it's so wispy and a synthetic hair brush makes it really nice for a light wash application of that kind of shadow (as in like the Pat McGrath baked glittery shades, Charlotte Tilbury hypnotising pop shot, Hourglass scattered lights, Urban Decay moondust etc.), when I'm not in the mood to press it on with a finger tip, or want a softer, more twinkly application. It's small enough that I have a fair bit of control over where I place the shadow too, which is nice. I use it so much that i'm probably gonna pick up a second, and grab the 208 precision angled while I'm at it, because Lauren May Beauty raves about that one. I'm also loving the 109 for blending out liquid blush atm, and the A506 for liquid concealer. God that's a great brush.

I’ve been looking forward to hearing your thoughts on your brushes! Totally agree that natural hair is best for powder, and synthetic is best for liquid/cream. I personally prefer Sonia’s brushes, but I also use powders (almost) exclusively 😅

Thank you for this. I need to thin my brush herd badly because I don't wear makeup often enough anymore to justify having them all, and the washing takes HOURS. After the culling, I'm definitely gonna reference your list to upgrade to fewer, nicer ones. (My massive paint brush collection, however, isn't going ANYwhere. LOL.) Loving your springy pinks today!

I always find it so fascinating what shape of brushes people prefer for different tasks. It can change the outcome so much! And it does seem to be related to face size/shape.

Brushes can change the game. I like BK for creams as well. The eye brushes were too rough for powders for me. But I like them for cream eyeshadow 🖤

@@hautemesstom Are you familiar with Kinky Sweat on RU-vid? she's my go-to for brush reviews. I know she liked the Chikuhodo J-Series, which is sold on Beautylish. Haven't tried them personally.

I love brushes and I’m so happy to hear your recommendations. I love the BK106 for cream blush and bronzers. I love synthetic or fusion brushes for cream products. I am not sure what my favourite brushes are for eyeshadow powders or creams. I use a lot of different brushes.

The fusion brushes are nice but I feel like synthetic in my experiences perform better for what I’m looking for out of a cream brush

The jumbo worker works really well for concealer for me, I’ve found it grab it more than my more angled brushes but I think I use my Lisa Eldridge brush a little more now

I can’t do natural hair brushes because the concept freaks me out (longtime vegetarian…and someone once said that their rephr brushes smelled of goat when they first got them, and I just could never). So I’m very grateful that BK makes such great quality brushes. I still have some Sephora Collection and a random It Cosmetics brush here and there, but BK are just so much better than most synthetic options. I am curious about Spectrum though….

I have actually not heard great things about spectrum brushes, but I also know people who really like them. they’ve not really been on my radar. But I certainly understand not wanting to use natural hair brushes!

Do you think the Sigma multitasker would be a good purchase for a beginner foundation brush? I am buying for my son's girlfriend; she asked for make up brushes as part of her graduation gift :)!
