Hi Virginie! Thanks so much for watching today. I love the idea of being on a no-buy, but . . . as a content creator that's hard. I need to buckle down and do it. It would be good for me. I'm just starting to dip my toe into luxury makeup. (Armani, Dior, YSL, Surratt, ect.) As someone who has a established luxury collection, what are the products you love and reach for the most? I'd love to know.
@@thelipstickgal hi my fave brands are Surratt and Lisa Eldridge that almost never disappoints.I was a Tom Ford fanatic but, since two years or more it became less interesting. I Love the Koh Gen Doh and Chantecaille foundation. Armani is always a brand that I love so much. It s so underrated imo.
I just ordered a TF quad with 2 mini lipsticks as part of the Nordstrom sale. It's been a while since I've had any TF eyeshadow, and I wanted to try it again since I'm on a luxury eyeshadow journey. I hope it's good! I'll have to look into more Armani. All I have from the brand right now is lipsticks. I've been thinking about getting more from the brand, but wasn't sure where to start. I'll just have to dive in.
Great video!❤ I always enjoy seeing the new products and seeing what others think of them. As for me, I’ve been on a no buy for most of the past 10 months, simply because I’m no longer working. I’m 61 years old with allergies, asthma, and interstitial lung disease. I really don’t need anything new I know what works for me so I just replenish as needed. However, my son and daughter-in-law like to give me Sephora gift cards for Christmas and my birthday. So I have picked up a few things. My most recent purchase was the Natasha Denona mini Rose palette. I fought with myself for the last couple of weeks finally gave in and bought it yesterday. 😊 I was like a kid in the candy shop for at least the 20 minutes I lasted in store before my inhaler wore off and I had to leave. 🤷🏼♀️ I did get a chance to try a couple of the Kosas blush is life. Curious to see how long they last or if my dry skin would eat them up. I’d say within four hours. It was completely gone, which was a bummer. Oops, sorry I got long-winded 😁
Sorry the Kosas blushes didn't work for you. I've been thinking about picking them up, but I certainly don't need any new blush at the moment. I've been loving the NARS ones I picked up. How are you liking the ND Rose palette? That looked so pretty to me, but I don't need more in that color story. I'm sure the formula is lovely. There's nothing like shopping with a gift card. I’m not super into lip balms yet, but all I know is you have me completely hooked on the Clarins lip oil 😅!! You’ve mentioned them in a few videos, so I finally tried them and am in love. It’s all I want to use now lol.
@@tinaroyal5498 I know right? They're amazing. I'm about to pick up another one in chocolate. It's my favorite. My youngest loves Pitaya, but it has a pH adjuster in it so I skip that one.
I didn’t know how much I needed that dopey glossier sharpener until I got it 😂. The glossier liners are amazing, too. I have to say my Edam tinted lip treatments and the ravie lippies are my stand outs. From what I’ve seen, I KNOW you would LOVE the ravie 😂
I'm sure I would love the Ravie lippies, but I keep forgetting to purchase them. I'm out of my beauty budget for the time being, so it will have to wait. That Glossier sharpener is really great! I love how I can easily sharpen so many one right after another. I used to wait until one pencil needed to be sharpened, and I would only sharpen that one. Now I just check everything that in rotation so the next time I reach for it, the pencil is perfectly sharp! LOVE!
I have been buying perfume and candles! I did get the Earth palette from Lethal Cosmetics. Of ya love green it is so good. Great reviews as always. Have a wonderful weekend ❌️ ⭕️
The Suqqu 03 in the permanent line may be a good replacement… I’ve heard the formula is similar- Japanese style. I sometimes get these brand new but second hand price from Vinted or Ebay.
Yes, it's super expensive. That's why I waited for a 20% off sale. It was still crazy expensive, but it made it palatable for me. Thanks for watching today!

@@thelipstickgal I totally get it. Sometimes I will use a bolder shade like that as a very thin liner on the upper lid, like barely there, for the tiniest pop when I blink. You definitely got your money's worth with that palette, though, even if those shades don't get used!
I have had a free mini Monsieur Big mascara in my drawer for the longest, and finally got around to trying it. It’s so good, I love it! Kicking myself for not trying it sooner. Another very much not new product I am loving is the powder foundation from Jane Iredale. My skin is so oily on my nose that I still need to find a better priming solution, but dang is it gorgeous otherwise!
@@nicholesmith4699 I'm in love with Monsieur Big. It's my favorite luxury mascara. I always pick it up on sale, but I still get it at full price when I'm out. Haven't tried much from Jane Iredale, but I hear so much good stuff about that powder. 👍
I just bought the YSL LS Candy Glow Balm in B6 the other day, I saw it for 25€ and could not say no, not being a lip gal I am kind of getting used to purchase lip products this summer. Loving a coral blush & brown lip balm and forgetting about shadow (until it gets cooler again). Loving your earrings too ❤
@@soniasobaro9127 thanks so much. These are the same gold paper clip earrings I wear all the time, I just changed the charms on them. I hope you're liking the YSL glow balm. It's one of my favorites and I'm curious to see if any of the rest of them have a noticeable PH adjuster in them. I'll have to watch them next time I'm in store. @thelipstickgal how cool, changing the charms look like different pieces every time! I like it, it lasts a bit longer than the Lisa's one on my lips. I dislike those PH adjusters, my lips turn bright weird fuchsia, never a nice fuchsia🙃 I do not know if I look fabulous but I like it for a change and coral/orange is such a happy colour
And to answer your new things question - I ordered a lid luster from Victoria Beckham... and I'm allergic to it ha. It's so pretty but burned my eyes so badly I had to go take it off. I emailed them and they refunded me immediately which is nice though!

Oooo some good Stu stuff here 😀, new to me stuff this past has been the haus labs concealer since the foundation has been my favorite everyday foundation for 2 years straight now, and the LE enhance and define lipliners 🥰, as far as the haus labs concealer I think I really like it but I do want to compare it to the ND concealer so that will be my next purchase, as far as keeping to a low buy which i definitely am right now my guideline for now is only purchase to replace a product I’ve used or that fits a specific missing need in my collection and routine ☺ and right now that was just finding my favorite lip liners and under eye concealer
I've been meaning to try the Haus Labs base products for a long time, but I never get around to it. I've heard nothing but good things about the concealer. I'm glad that you're liking the LE lip liners. They're some of my favorites in my collection. I just wish they weren't so expensive. : ( I need to find a way to get new stuff for my channel without over purchasing. It's a hard place to be as a content creator. I know I have too much, but I'm not managing a normal makeup collection. I'm still trying to figure it out.
@@thelipstickgal yes that completely understandable I think even in my own collection the categories I have the hardest time keeping at a useable number is eyeshadow palettes and lipsticks 😆☺ but I have gotten better in the last couple years ☺
I used to have one of the Nars travel size that I received as a gift with a Sephora order several years ago. I heard you say they reformulated them. I pretty much limit myself to six blushes. Lol, but that isn’t to say I couldn’t possibly be persuaded to maybe someday purchase another one. Next time I’m near a store I’ll check out the new ones. Today was the first day I used the mini rose. I own two of the five shades that are also in the midi retro palette. But they made a formulation change to both and I do prefer the new ones better. Those two shades have the deepest amount of missing product in the palette. 😆 that’s the biggest reason I picked it up. I really Decluttered my palette collection over the last couple of years. I am left with my several Natasha Denona, all of my Sydney Grace, and a couple of Tarte palettes that I couldn’t bring myself to part with just because I love the shades certainly not because they last (because they don’t even with the primer) and they don’t have a lot of fallout during application (which isn’t true either). 🤷🏼♀️😊
I haven't have a NARS blush in years. I remember purchaing Orgasm about 15 years ago, but didn't love it the way everyone else did so I skipped on picking up more. These new ones are formulated without talc, but they shades are the same. Lovely, and easy to use. I love how this new ND mini had deeper shades than some of the previous ones. Looks so nice. I need to do another declutter, but I'm not emotionally ready to do that yet.
I chuckled when I read your reply. That was the Nars shade that I received for free. I kind of liked it? 😏 i just thought it had too much of a gold shine in it for me. I do like a pink or berry blush, even if I am a light to medium skin tone. I always considered myself to have a cool undertone. But as I’ve gotten older and I have silver and gray hair, I can get away with more shades including a peachy pink. Curious to see when the midi rose palette comes out what shades will be included.
@@edkmall I'm curious to see how ND pulls of a midi size rose palette. ☺️ The orgasm shade is one of the cornerstones of their brand. It's ok, but I'm looking for something different than what was popular almost 2 decades ago. If it didn't have the gold shimmer, I'd probably really enjoy it.
Beyond beige looks so pretty…I’ve been tempted many times but I’ve heard the formula is similar to Suqqu and I’ve got quite a few Suqqu quads (it’s my favourite eyeshadow with the YSL new quads). The 03 has a similar colour story to the Surrat and I’ve used it so much for that understated “natural” look that I’ve hit pan! That’s my one strategy to avoid buys (with mixed success)… looking at my collection often! The YSL lipsticks are so expensive, but the packaging is so nice it makes me want to use them :) I got a couple of nudes (44 and 150) and loving them! The Clarins lip oil is another favourite, but have to navigate around the ph adjusting shades. I wish brands indicated this in the packaging, it’s a bit misleading.
Yes! I wish brands would indicate which ones are pH adjusing on the package. That would make purchasing so much easier. Some people are looking for that, and some of us aren't. I really like the YSL formulas. They make me so happy every time I pull one out of my purse or pocket. I'm especially in love with this new Butter Glow formula. I've never tried any Suqqu. I keep thinking about picking up some eyeshadows or blushes, but I don't know where to start. What would be your recommendation. It's a brand I keep coming back to, but never get around to trying.
@@thelipstickgal I think you cannot go wrong with anything, really. I find their products are immaculate. I love their eyeshadows the most, because of their texture which is very buttery and the interesting colour stories that still don’t look garish and end up looking very elegant. The permanent collection 01 to 04 has neutral beautiful colour stories (I have all four, 03 being probably my fave but hard to choose). I just got the limited edition for autumn winter and love the purple quad in particular. The formula is particularly nice in these two quads (so silky) so I would recommend it if you like the colours. Their blushes are beautiful too (I have multiple of the discontinued melting colour blush) and they just released a new formula I haven’t tried, but people are loving it. The lipsticks (matte formula, very thin and weightless in a good way, with lots of understated wearable red tones) and the balms are also great. I’d love to know your opinion if you end up trying something ☺️
When I make a Suqqu purchase, I'll probably be several things, and I'll end up showing it here for a first impression. Thanks so much for the suggestions. I like the price of Suqqu more than Surratt. It's more manageable.

Well my nearest purchase that I’ve made this morning is Unleashia Luv Hug Velvet Tint in the shades 2 and 4, like their pinkiesh undertone, cause I’m always into pinks speaking about lippies, and it’s time to get ready for new fall/winter season, so velvet texture is something that I’m usually reaching for during cold months. I'm loving the Romand lip products I picked up recently, and I want to get into more k-beauty formulas. @@ericakershaw4705 I'm so glad you like the EADAM balm. It's in my purse and I take it with me everywhere. As for a boring Betty quad I'd recommend either the praline or praline epicé from Viseart. They're both under $30. If you're feeling bougie, I love the shade 100 from YSL. It's the couture mini clutch eyeshadow quad. It's $68 so it's much pricier, but stunning. If you're a beauty pie member I like their quads too. I hope that gives you options. I also love a single shadow for easy days. The hourglass scattered light singles are amazing. I also like the ones from Lisa Eldridge. (Liquid lurex) They're si good for a fast and easy one shadow look. I love Bianca, Emily and Cressida for a quick look with little effort.

I really like the Hourglass, but the price is what keeps me from purchasing them again. I run through them so quickly. I wish I loved the Clarins more. I think I needed the red shade, but I'm worried that it might end up going everywhere. The YSL is lovely. I think you might like it. I'm very tempted by the other shades, but I'd have to swatch them in store to find out how much pH adjusting they do.

It's just a formula that is so very different and perfect on my lips!! It wears so nice. Even the Prada leaves me that "crack" of separation but nothing like that happens with the Dior. Or maybe it’s Wild Berry gum. But Clarins balm definitely smells like gum from my childhood. The balm is fine, but I prefer the ones from Bare Minerals.
