Congrats on a good week. Yes, I hated your fold with the Aces. 😊 There were a lot of hands you beat. Your check on the turn could have induced a bluff shove as well with flush draws and straight draws. Also, do you lead often OOP with a C bet? If so I’d put in a lot more Check raises on a flop like this. Enjoying your vlogs and discussing the hands played.
@NorCal_Poker
@NorCal_Poker 5 месяцев назад
I do like the check raise on flop a lot cuz then I can narrow his range & lower the SPR to jam on most turns! Didn’t think about that til after the hand. Thanks for the feedback!

That first K10 hand you have to raise when you get led into. They can be betting pair plus draw, 2P, sets, naked draws none of which are folding to a single raise. Some may decide just to go with it if it’s 2P+, being afraid of the straight coming. Also, your raise may look like you’re trying to protect worse value hands, so they may decide to try to bluff you when the 1 liner comes in. When you call and the 1 liner comes in it looks like you got there so of course they play it passively now.

If you bet $65 and expect to get called 100% time on the 1-to-a-straight first hand, you make more ev if your $130 bet is only called 55% of the time, which I think is much more likely than 65 being called 100% .

On that first hand with the flopped str8, I'd think about betting 110% pot to make it look like a steal attempt. You'll likely still get a fold, but a sticky calling station with 2pr might try a hero call. Your bet was too value-ish IMHO.🤷‍♂️ Great vlog, man! Say hi to Doug M & Zeus for me!😂

Really nice to see you run really good for a change in your first session...kind of like McCluskey runs most of the time!!! I don't like folding the AA there just because the way the hand played I think it's more likely that he has a Q or 10 with a flush draw or a gutter with a flush draw which you are well ahead against, so your calling your last $400 to win $700... only need to be right around 36-38%...so unless he's got two pair or a set your significantly ahead and even vs. 2 pair like Q-10 your only a little worse than 4-1 getting almost 2-1 when behind...not terrible considering the number of hands in his more likely ranges you are beating. Not to mention his preflop range also could easily have called your preflop $65 includes AQs or KK, JJ that picked up a gutter on the turn etc. And you have to mostly discount the sets in the math because there can always be sets out there against your Aces so factoring that into the equation doesn't make a ton of sense unless you have a very player specific read on how the hand played. To me that makes you extremely exploitable when the stacks are pretty deep when you are out of position with your big pairs. I think you're probably a little gun-shy from getting your Aces cracked five times in a row in the last Vlog which is understandable. Keep the run good going. I've enjoyed your openings showing a little bit about your life outside of Poker. I also think your turn betting is a little light a couple times when it's fairly obvious your opponent is drawing.

yeah I agree, this is a terrible fold. The 3b pre, bet flop, check turn, the opponent likely always 'puts them on AK.' I think they could easily be jamming worse their for value. I also think the best value hands (sets/2 pair) likely don't overbet it either, from a live perspective. They could even be spaz jamming Tx trying to fold out hands like AK/AJ/JJ/99 etc. Terrible fold overall and kinda scared money. Like are they only calling there with QQ & TT? lmao

Your Red AA hand. Ok so a ten dollar straddle and I’m in late position and just flat the $10. I can’t be that strong. Or I guess I could be. Waiting for someone to raise especially the straddle. You raise to $65 from the small blind. They all fold and since there is $115 in the pot and I only have to call $55 to see a flop and I’m in position. I call. My thoughts were I’m in position. You are somewhat strong. And I am ready to battle since I’m stuck. But most of all I liked my position and can see a flop . T83 with two clubs. You put me on a ten or flush draw or j9. I guess I could have all those hands since I just limped the straddle. And just called your preflop bet. You bet 65 into 170 so now it’s 65 to call to win 235. 4 to 1. I’m in there with almost everything except a major miss. 300 in the pot and a turn is a semi scare card. You check. My thought process is well. He is never checking a really strong hand. You also shouldn’t have j9 or QT since those you would more likely to flat the 10 pre. If you had KQ of clubs or KT or QT of clubs then another continuation bet would be in order. The check on the turn definitely capped your range to one pair. Or a monster of set of Q’s or T’s. I see you more likely to bet them. So at this point the is $300 in the pot. I did think about betting a smaller size but with stack depths ( I had like 440 behind) and the pot being juicy I figured the all in would put the most pressure on you and you didn’t want to make the bad call or the bad non call. So what did I have?
