To be able to utilize a 3D printer you need to be able to make a 3D drawing of the bait you want to make. In this movie I show you how you can make such drawing in Fusion 360. The result is a nice breamlike shad with a few details and a lot of attitude.
If you want to make you own baits from the drawing I made in this video, you can download the STL-files from here: www.thingivers...
If you want to follow this movie to make a bait, it would be an advantage to know the basic functionality of Fusion 360. Here is a link to a guy the makes superb beginners tutorials for Fusion: • Fusion 360 Tutorial fo...

Learned more in the first five minutes, including the 1.5 minute intro, so really, the first 3.5 minutes of this video, than any of the others I've watched. I have this saved in my "artwork" folder so I can reference at any time.

Really cool video. A little tip that may be helpful you may use mirror option a bit more so you don't have to do things on both sides ;)

Hi again, Jorgen. Thank you SO much for this comprehensive tutorial on Fusion360. The same goes for your "companion" introduction to 3D printing. GREAT job on both! Because I'm only making a few different lure designs-and because I truly enjoy hand-carving-I'll almost certainly stick to traditional methods. But it never hurts to learn new things, and perhaps in my next life (hah!) I'll be a professional luremaker.

Hi Jorgen, a quick tip, you can use the selection filter to select the desired item (in your case the sketch items) underneath faces and bodies, instead of hiding your body

Really nicely done. Any idea to add scales to the master. That are printable? Details to the master look the most challenging. Difficult to sand them. Could try acetone but .......
@SplishSplashFishing
@SplishSplashFishing 4 года назад
I have not figured out a good way to put scales on the sides yet. I think there is other programs that handles that part better than Fusion 360. When it comes to details I am always split between how much should be on the cast and what should be painted. Painting details offers great flexibility while casted details are a lot easier. Acetone does not work with PLA, so if you want to go that way you should use ABS

Hi, this may be a loaded question but Im learning and created a nice shape for a jerkbait as a form but now I can't (don't know) how to cut in half so I can design the inside... Stupid but literally started designing today :)

i am getting a da Vinci nano and started using AF 360 today. Rather fun. A lot easier to use than Blender. Is there a function that allows me to halve the lure then add a hollow cut-out inside to then add packaging Styrofoam peanuts into to create buoyancy? Also, when I want to create stencils for the lure, how is that process done?
@SplishSplashFishing
@SplishSplashFishing 2 года назад
Hi Dwight. You can use the split body tool to half the body. I think there is such function, but I don't think you need it. Once your lure has topcoat it will have the same boyancy with or without the styrofoam. But you might want to make room for the weights
