You know what I always tell people when I go to their house and they are apologizing for everything not being perfect? Don’t apologize for living in your house! If someone comes over and there are crumbs on the floor or dishes in the sink it does not mean you are lazy. It means you live there. It really is ok.

You made me smile when you put back the table yourself. With our first pregnancy we wouldn’t darn pick something like that up but with successive pregnancies we go along lifting furniture, kids, boxes, and whatever! Mainly because we can’t be bothered to ask for help. We have so much to do and who has the time to wait for help.

I absolutely loved this video, my grandmother taught me how to cook and be a homemaker and it was lovely to see your girls helping. I know a lot of people find it wrong these days to suggest that women do the housework, but it’s still true that it’s mostly women. I’ve always enjoyed keeping my house lovely, my house is not perfect and that’s perfectly ok. ❤️

It's true that in the majority of homes the women do the biggest share of housework, even if they have 9-5 jobs which really makes it unfair imo. Unlike you I wasn't taught how to do anything domestic on purpose. My mother wanted me to have a career only. I wanted a family. I followed my heart but struggled for a long time because I didn't know how to do a thing. I had never cleaned, cooked, or done laundry, nothing. I had never seen a baby in person before I had my own, how weird is that? I really think it does a child a huge disservice not to teach them these basic life skills. ALL my kiddos do chores. I don't want them to be clueless like I was. And I see nothing wrong with taking pride in your home, caring for it yourself. It isn't demeaning like I was taught to think. Homemaking is a beautiful thing. What person doesn't want a lovely home?

I have had my rug under the kitchen table for 15 years. It gets hoovered, the dog sleeps there and it gets shampooed about three times a year. It still looks fine. I regard the kitchen as the engine room. It has to work hard. I like it to look nice but it also has to be able to take the knocks of family life. Thank you for the video.

I so enjoyed you loving your home with the artful touches and small repairs, all while pregnant. It took me back to my last month of pregnancy with each of my children when 'nesting' seemed to be the driving force of the day. I walked so heavily and slowly with the weight of each child and yet never seemed to notice as I made my home homier and ready. Thank you for sharing these moments with us. Truly an inspiration.

Loves this video. The summer is all about fresh food, garden work, river days, time for swimming and visits with family and the house gets lived in. The first slightly hint of fall or cooling day and I switch focus to cleaning, regrouping, canning supplies ready, bedrooms gone through, etc. Love having the kids help and getting to teach them to enjoy the space they are in❤

When your video showed up on my feed it was the video where you were putting little touches in your bathroom, your message was even if you don’t have your home the way you really want time being, to just fix it up a little with some nice touches, I fell in love with you and your channel that day and subscribed. I love all your videos, but this one was just so special. My favorite days are when I am just doing little projects, cooking and cleaning, I love being a homemaker, I can tell you love your home, your daughters will follow in your footsteps, which is so rare these days. I will be married 50 years in two weeks, and I still love taking care of my lovely home, I thank my Mom for the lessons she taught me. Your a sweetheart, and have a lovely family. God Bless ❤️

I have several Turkish rugs and every so often I take them out on a concrete surface and hose them off and scrub them with a hard bristol brush and hose them off and then leave them in sun to dry. That is how the Turkish rug shop owner told me how to clean them.They look brand new after I do it.I have had them for 20+ years

I had a rug under my table for about a year, but I got so tired of having to constantly move the table to vacuum because my kids are horribly messy, that I just recently decided to go without. It's just much easier to sweep it out daily then mop once a week than it is to vacuum every day. You have a very beautiful, welcoming home.

You’re so inspirational, Lisa! My kitchen has needed the paint touched up fo year’s, but it seems like such a huge, overwhelming job. I would never think of just grabbing a paintbrush and getting it done in an hour. Maybe now I will. I always admire you content creators that just fearlessly go for projects that would intimidate me. We always had a cow hide rug under our harvest table but after a while I finally put it away and left us rugless haha. It collected so much dirt from our land and dog and it just was one more thing. Rugs under tables though sure look more cozy and inviting. Love the art of homemaking. As soon as I get overwhelmed I come to watch one of your videos and am reminded that the little touches in the home are so worth it as a homemaker 🤍🌱

I don’t do a lot of seasonal decorating or decorating at all - pretty minimal belongings we have, but I still love the art of homemaking in my own way. This is a beautiful video. Still love to take care of my home and the way it looks even if it doesn’t look the same as others version of homemaking. Sometimes a healthy dinner on the table is all the beauty the home needs!

Regarding the dining room rug...while I was raising my five kids, I used a Safavieh indoor/outdoor rug (which I could take outside and hose off in the event of a spotfest😂) over my nicer rug and It was wonderful. This protected my beautiful rug until the kids got older and didn't spill things

Yes, I did this too. My entry rug and dining table rugs were outdoor rugs which got hosed off outside pretty regularly, ha ha. They were fantastic.

Watching your daughter cut tomatoes. If you have her cut from the inside out (so that the skin is on the bottom of the cut) it is actually easier since the knife already has momentum by the time it tries to go through the skin.

It feels so good to be able to watch this video in our time of major crisis here in Houma, Louisiana after hurricane Idas devastation. This small little time of normalcy is comforting to my soul that time will heal all of our broken hearts as our home town has been destroyed and our homes are ravaged by the destruction of the winds of 150 mph lasting 9 hours. But seeing you tiding up your home gives me hope that my home will someday be clean again. 🙏

I am so excited for the fall menu! I just started the summer one and cut or grocery bill by half. I love making stuff from scratch but hate planning ahead 🙃 you are a lifesaver!
