Making a Chanel Jacket Episode 3 - Continuing on the journey from previous weeks, I discover the biggest secret of a Chanel jacket whilst practicing various techniques required to make a Chanel style jacket.
I document the various techniques in this video
- including making sure that the boucle' fabric does not fray whilst working with it
- quilting the lining and interlining to the outer fabric
- hand knotting the ends of the stitch lines instead of back stitching
- making sure to cut the lining and interlining bigger than the outer fabric pieces so that when quilting the shrinkage does not affect the lining and interlining pieces
These techniques are crucial to ensure that the construction of the Chanel jacket is authentic, however, there is something more important that makes a Chanel jacket truly special.
