I this video, I take you through the making of a base to compliment the drill stand that was made in the previous video (part 1).
The base is, for the most part, typical of aftermarket drill press tables or pillar drill tables that include an adjustable fence and flip stop. Mine really only differs in making a mount for the drill stand on the base.
Still, I hope you find this video useful, helpful or interesting if you're planning on making something like it for yourself.

From scrap to an accurate drill press I think that deserves a pat on the back. And yes you did add a few great camera angles lol

Thak you very much for your video! It looks like this construction is all what I need for now. I'll watch it a few times ( because my English is not so high level 😊) then surely I'll have some questions. Hope you'll find some time to answer. Best regards!

No problem. I think most of what you need to know is shown in the video, even if you can't understand all the English. I'll try and help if you have any questions. Post any question as a separate comment as then I'll get notified.👍

Grand job fella. Last year someone sold a load of profile on marketplace and was umming and ahhing about getting it. Missed out in the end and will forever be gutted about it! It’s the sort of stuff that is brilliant to have to hand for projects. Have you ever thought about getting old knackered 3d printers for peanuts? They have profile in them a lot but also stepper motors so you could make something like this automatic with motors lol

Cheers mate. Always worth keeping an eye out for a deal on a bundle. Even if you miss one, another will come up. Bought all my silver 2020 and 4040 that way. Saved loads! Honestly mate, I just don't have the room for collect more bits and machines. Just focussed on using what's to hand before a clear out. Hence these vids. Making my furniture needs room and organisation. I have precious little of either😂

Interesting video again! But where can I find information about the router stand that you used with your Mafell 1000 to make the base? I have the same Mafell, but after I bought it I couldn't find a usable stand to fit it. Now I'm using a not-so-well-fitting Metabo plunge stand that doesn't really feel comfortable or secure. I hope you know a better solution to use the Mafell as a palm router.

Cheers. I use an old Bosch one (link below to a relevant ebay search with some). It's from their old POF 50, POF 52 and POF 500a routers. I was lucky. I found a rare kit that included the plunge and fixed base! But yeah, all those old routers accepted a 43mm collar so fit the Mafell FM 800/1000. They're not great but perfectly useable. www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=bosch+pof+500a&_sacat=0&rt=nc&LH_ItemCondition=4

I'll check my links at some point to make sure they're current. For aluminium profile extrusion, I'm sure you'll be able to a Finnish supplier. For linear rails, good deals can be found on Banggood or Aliexpress.
