Leonard , Hello here from sunny Arizona, your videos are top notch. I hauled gas out of that terminal many times from 1990- to 94 back then we could only haul 4,800 gals into the city in a straight job painted bright red. Work for Mararhon petroleum now in Phoenix I sure do miss New York.
This work is not hard.. after 6 months - 1 year you should have your feet planted. You would still have a lot to learn but it will come with experience. Take your time!! Don’t rush!! Being a gasoline hauler is not a forgiving job. Try hard not to make mistakes, keep your mind clear when working.
@@leonardbarrett6274 just 1 question do you end up inhaleing alit of fumes throughout the day , ive been thinking of giving this a go but a little worried about losing brain cells getting older want to keep what i got ,,, your thought leonard would be appreciated
Hey there sir. Im looking to get into the fuel tanker trade. How you manage to navigate around those tight service stations especially in Newyork? Im from Boston Ma and thats my main concern. Any tips will be appreciated thanks
I can say… be patient, keep your eyes moving, ask fellow drivers about the station, and check route cards which most companies supply. TAKE YOUR TIME every time you pull on that station the scenario changes with cars (customers) in your way. But you will be able to handle it.
I see 👀u, playa. Fresh kicks, vest n shirt all buttoned up !! You aiming for corporate, huh ?? 😂Lose that habit of running line, trailer to fitting on your connection. Even if its just vapor. ALWAYS fitting to trailer on EVERYTHING. Look at them crystal clear drop windows and pretty hoses. Sun doing y'all good !
I'm wayyy more concerned with the potential for product discharging out a hose not connected to anything. Things happen, pressed for time, mental fog, we're reduced to muscle memory. Might connect product line same as you do recovery line. Our SOP is to set vapor fitting then stick. You'll see a couple inches difference as opposed to sticking it with vapor closed. The 30 seconds of vapor release is negligible.
@@noxtrucker2747 I hear your point. I always check, double check, and look 👀 back to see where that hose is hooked up at.The less fumes I have to breathe in, the better it is for me. Being around these chemicals are no good for us, but someone has to do it 😃
For sure. Anytime before I do anything vapor I take a breath and exhale as I'm making or disengaging the connection. Turn your head away too. That thick ass Bible in the terminal labeled MSDS tells us all about them chemicals..
