Thanks buddy! Glad you liked the way I presented it. I typically don't narrate over time lapse but I wanted to give it a try.

Nice, jigs are essential for duplication of parts. Great job on showing how it’s done. Have a great New Years Buddy. BigW:-)

Good idea, in wood is more easy than assembly in metal.

That's a good idea! I was going to make some jigs with steel plates. I like that though so I don't have a bunch of steel plated jigs lying around and I can easily move the mounting points lol.

Dumb question, how does that not catch on fire? One more question, how is that strong enough to prevent the tubes from moving during weld shrinkage??? I'd love to make a jig out of wood, but idk if i can trust it? Advice?
@DougBugBuilder

All the Jig is for is to hold things in place to tack them together. When I final weld it I take it out of the Jig. It will still warp, even if the jig was metal. I usually need to put it in a press when done to push the ends back out so it fits in the frame tabs.

What kind of tube do I need to make control arm's thanks for your ifo.
@DougBugBuilder
@DougBugBuilder 2 года назад
These are 1 3/4" x .095" DOM. This Baja is a bit heavier than a normal VW Baja. My other Baja has 1 1/2" tube and they are just fine.

How are you attaching the spindles?
@DougBugBuilder
@DougBugBuilder 2 года назад
I actually ended up changing to boxed control arms for this build. And I integrated some tabs into the design to connect to 1" uniballs in the spindles.

@@DougBugBuilder awesome ty for the response, I haven't been able to find what people are using online I think I've been looking in all the wrong places. I like your videos! You explain stuff very well and help my understanding of suspension quite a bit!
@DougBugBuilder
@DougBugBuilder 5 лет назад
@@marvinightmetalworks258 Yeah, when I started this build specific info was hard to come by. That's why in my videos I try to give a certain amount of detail for others. Good luck with your build.
