Thanks for this! Just getting into cutting and etching and had some ideas for some projects. Nice to see how the lighting turned out. I like that you got the effect you were looking for, I also wouldn't want to see the LED strips through the etch, so it's good to see someone pull this off.

I like to lock that tool so I can select my items without moving my gig. I use tool 1 for where my wood is (example 12x12 wood), Then I used tool 2 and marked off where my heavy duty magnets go. Now I am able to use every spot on my wood without waste. I turn off the Frame on the tool and use the circle frame button, so I can see it go around my magnets. Btw that and your gig, I almost don't need to frame anymore on standard 12x12 wood.

I've found 12X12 and 8X8 mirrors that I have ordered from Amazon. I pack of 12 is about $30. They engrave pretty good.

@@samfrancis9036 Today is my first day using mirrors for engraving. I got an 8x8 and have been trying to find a mirror frame thats also mirror, but the 8x8 is beveled. I fear I'm going to have to get extra crafty. Wish me luck!

Do you do the mirror engrave with the Air Assist on? Also, Did you put a piece of card stock on the honeycomb to protect the glass/help with frost look? Thanks, as always

I always run air to keep my lens clean. I space the engraving area above the bed. That helps avoid back side burns

Thanks so much for this video. I am supposed to get my D1 pro today if the shipping alerts are correct. Can't wait to get started. Question how did you get the glass sized properly? I have a huge piece of glass, that the previous owners left in the garage that might be perfect for this.

No, they are inside the frame pointing toward the center. I used a stapler to secure them around the edge. There is an inch of space behind the mirror and the interior of the space is painted white to enhance reflectivity of the wood.

Look at Lowe’s for 12x12 mirror wall tiles. They have a pack of 6 down here it like 2.50 a sq ft

Will the diode laser get damgaged if engrave on the front without masking tape?

I cannot say for sure but the end results on the burn will be the same, easier doing the back.

What is continually power mode? And are you using a 20w laser?

Keeps the power output from going up and down. It’s a lightburn setting. I used a 10 in this video but have 20s now

You can spray back of a clear glass with mirror paint.

Your work is very beautiful. I have two questions: 1) I don't understand how you hid the LED strip behind the mirror. 2) I may be wrong, but I think that if you put a piece of the LED strip, say, just on the bottom of the mirror, it would light up (enhance) the Sign. I mean, you wouldn't need to use the LED strip on all four sides of the frame. Thanks for the video.

Paint the inside white. Staple the lights around the edge. The box that I built has a 1 inch cavity behind the mirror.

How do you attach the led strip? I bought one like what you get off amazon but when I peel the blue strip off it, there is no glue to attach to the frame of the mirror.

The adhesive strip can stay attached to the covering. If that happens, I use either hot glue or 3m strip adhesive. You can use the command strip refills also.

So I ended up getting a xtool d1 10watt laser and when I engrave on the back of the mirror I'm getting the laser lines instead of just the frosted look. Any advice. I'm using xtool creative software at the moment

Mirror do not require a lot of power. Run the speed higher or power lower. A speed test is best

I havent done one with the 20 watt, I still use my 10 for them. I would have to test but my starting point would probably be about 130mm/s at 75% on the 20. I havent tested it though..

Don't recall but probably just 127, mirrors burn easy. 254 would work to, just may frost more.

I'm trying to laser a mirror with a 20 watt D1 pro, and my logo looks good on my test mirror from walmart. 70 power 40 speed. But on the old mirror, it keeps setting off the fire sensor. Any thoughts? Love the channel.

Clean the flame sensor if there is no fire. You can also adjust or disable it if needed in XCS,

@@dailydrivendomestics7317 , with the right settings it should be possible. A power grin should help figure it out. I would think a CO2 would be able to do it.

@The Clack Shack I guess I will have to keep playing around with it. I was messing around with it all day today and it either is frosted or doesn't burn off enough of thr coating and I have to scrub it with a coarse sponge
