Recently I have learned about a type of Bronze called Sunset Bronze.
I learned about it from a fellow metal caster on RU-vid, SJWCasting
Check out his channel here:
/ sjwcasting
Also have a look at The Bismuth Smith:

Thanks for the shoutout man!😃. So, that was strange that the bismuth didn’t bind🤔. Mike definitely knows what’s causing that but I have no clue🤔. Still great video!!👍🏻.

So bismuth isn't actually soluble in copper the same way as tin and zinc are. Maybe emulsifying it into the molten copper, zinc, and tin alloy by adding it bit by bit would work? I'm sure there's some trick to it. I'd try pulverising the bismuth beforehand if it were me, but I'm no redsmith. Yet.

Nice video Ralph. Gotta watch that thermal shock and I would definitely tell you're viewers about the mask you have on melting zinc. Looks like you gotta figure out that bismuth problem!

New sub here from SJWCasting. That was really interesting seeing the bismuth coming out. Great video. I also know a few other channels that commented, Heinrich’s Made, Silver Scorpion, Scrap Metal And Mayhem, some others. Great channels.

Nice pour - but still I also do not know why the bismuth did not bind to the whole mix. Either way. I did enjoy the video and trying to catch up with videos that I missed when I was gone. Also I got back to filming again, and new videos will come back soon in my channel :)

Well I know what game it's based one ;) And I think I know what you're making now! :O Wowow I can't wait to see the results! I could see the difference between the sunset bronze and the regular bronze, and the colour is super nice I love it! It's really cool hearing about the whole process and the metal properties, you do a great narration. Also I laughed at the beheaded LEGO guy :D

Well hello, didn't expect you to actually watch this, so now you know. Well the sunset bronze one is just about done and came out great, now that I have bronze and gold that leaves the middle one, so there will be 3 different colors 👍

@@ralphmourik I love watching your videos! I've never met anybody who does metal-casting before so I find the whole process fascinating. It reminds me a bit of learning chemistry. I know the general idea but I think the final result will still be a surprise. I'm sure the three colours are going to be beautiful!

Very interesting,and the bismuth does have some pretty wild colors, that's pretty awesome! So the bismuth is safe to handle? Great video!

Did you know you could get bismuth from Pepto Bismol? Do you have that there in your country?
@MASKTERTV
@MASKTERTV Год назад
Master which of those is easy to cast ?? Aluminum or bronze??
@ralphmourik
@ralphmourik Год назад
Well it all depends on what you are casting, but in most cases Aluminium gets less details because it is very light weight, but there are many different types of Alu. The cast Aluminium you see at the beginning of this video has silica in it so it casts a lot better that pure Alu from cables or cans. Also I heard Silica Bronze casts very nice, but I have not yet used that myself.
