In today's video, Patrick Adair designs a ring made out of crushed lapis lazuli and blue strontium aluminate glow powder. The result looks totally natural with an added glow that almost makes the ring seem alien.

interesting way to add the lapis lazuli into the ring. i purchased a ring when i lived in chile that had it laid into silver with larger chunks. they had both the green and blue lazuli in the ring. loved the results here. great looking ring and i can see it being used in so much more.

Try mixing the Lapis glow with the symetrical super conductor cut. It'd give it an electric glow to go with the ring looking like a conduit coil from a sifi machine.

Suggestion for your shop: A few tubes with cylinders of various sizes in the middle to use for resin cast rings. This would make it SO much easier to cast your resin rings, and they'd already have a hole in the middle. And if you filled the entire tube, you'd basically have a whole rod of material for multiple rings.

fun fact that I remembered while you were mixing the lapis with the resin: Lapis Lazuli is actually used as paint pigment sometimes, so it's like you're coloring the resin and not just mixing a rock with it. Pretty cool, yo!

Love the way this turned out. I would like to see this done with malachite or corrundum. Have you thought about using two tubes as molds? Should help save from drilling out so much material.

What happened you dump a ring in Crystal chemicals where they grow crystals or you add glow powder inside of it and you have glowing crystals on a ring would it look perfect on your finger or make a Minecraft ring or make a gear ring

Can you make a gear ring or you can make a ring from Minecraft or maybe one of you put a ring inside Crystal chemicals and the crystals grow in the ring and you put glow powder and you created a glowing ring with crystals growing you can use that as a necklace

Hey... I have a suggestion: would be nice if you put resin with glowing powder in the acid etched superconductor ring (in the cracks) and then sanding it at the same level. you should try a simple material range like crushed garden stone mixed in resin and then have a steel or workers iron inlay or frame i think it would be nice and have so much detail and intrigue about it.

I love your videos and rings, they have given me a passion for at least watching ring making. It is so relaxing. I would love to get a lathe and other tools and start crafting some of my own. If I do I know where to order my supplies. Do have a Dremel though and would love to see an instructional video on how you would craft a ring with just the most basic of hand and power tools. (No press/lathe/etc).

I was so taken by the beauty of that ring I completely forgot about the glow powder. If your'e going to make more rings from crushed stone think about making a series of sieves from increasing sizes of screen. You could exclude all but the desired sizes. For instance, excluding the finest powder would mean less material to compromise the strength of the resin.

Powder metallurgy works in the same idea except the binder is metal or WC and the setting temperature is very high so much less binder is needed. Ball milling is used to get the powder desired mesh sizes so might be a good idea for bulk powder,but a good old hammer is a great idea for a test run.

I really liked this ring, when it glowed it almost reminded me of a star sky. Would be cool if you could try and make a ring like that. Like a black ring but when it glows it has lots of little spots that shines blue making it look like a mine star sky :)

Yeah this looks really nice, I think it might look cool with a carbon fiber inside or if it was done in the obsidian finish. Maybe both with a smooth black inside and an angular vibrant outside? Might be too much but I think it could work

Gorgeous ring and the only thing I'd like to see more of within the ring is golden flakes like you mentioned (gold leaf?). I love that most lapis lazuli pieces tend to have golden flakes mixed in and the deep natural blue definitely attracts me towards this stone more than others. This is the first video of yours that I've viewed and I'm very curious to see what you've created with labradorite (my favorite). 👍 Great work!

Just a suggestion for an experiment is to make a mix like lapis and somethi g else or lava rock and the meteorite scraps mixed with like a glow color would be a interesting mix if the crushing thing can work with thoughts materials.

Can you make a ring out of crystals but you dumped the ring and Crystal chemicals and the Crystal start growing on the ring and you put glow powder on it so that means you have a glowing ring that has crystals growing on it or maybe you could just try to make a Minecraft ring with all the mobs and monsters

try some crushed pieces of resin in the mix so you get clear spaces between. Definitely add some pyrite. I think you might get a better polish if clear resin finished it instead of CA
