Unfortunately, I have an uncontrollable compulsion to correct this common misuse of the word "viscous" - even though the subject has almost nothing to do with your excellent content. Viscous is synonymous with "thick" not "runny". So a fluid with a high viscosity resists flowing, while a low viscosity fluid flows readily. I still enjoyed the video :)

Beautiful result as usual. The contrast of textures is lovely. I dont wear rings but i love the materials you use and the imagination that goes into your rings. Your video production is better than most on youtube too! Have you ever used mature English yew? The colour contrast from old wood to new is striking and its a very durable wood! (used for bows and quarterstaffs)

If you had a more powerful lathe you could drill titanium easier. I use the low geer with mist coolant and spot drill and go straight to a 1/2 Morse taper bit . The bit dulls out because titanium eats steel bits for breakfast but a quick resharpen takes 20 seconds. I normally part off and and enlarge the hole with another bit or just use the boring bar. I only have morse taper bits in 1/8 increments after 1/2 inch so i just pick the closest and bore the rest of the way.

You might benefit from trying some lathe tooling from A.R. Warner. They make insert tooling but with high speed steel inserts which tend to work better on smaller lathes that lack the rigidity and feeds/speeds necessary to properly utilize carbide. Trying your hand at sharpening high speed steel blanks on a bench grinder is a good idea too as you can make tools to fit any shape or situation.

Patrick, I am a huge fan of your works. Here is an idea for a future ring : Damascus made of titanium and meteorite and a golden skull. Make the ring a size 6.5.

If you used Damascus steel and etched it in acid and then used organic materials on the side it could be new. And I like this new style. It allows you to be both asymmetric and symmetric based on what you want and the material you choose. Oh and I like the new shots at the end. They really fit with the theme.👍

I'm loving these ring videos. Need the serpent one if it comes down in price in the future. But unless you Yanks have changed the meaning of the word (which I'd be nonplussed about), then viscosity is how gloopy something is. So if runnier then water, it's the opposite of very viscous. (around 8mins in). Keep the videos coming. Thumbs up.

Only some parts of antler are porous. It depends on the piece of antler and the animal it came from, as well as its diet and grow speed during antler growth.
