Hi there!
First of all - thank you to all the new subscribers ❤️ I can imagine you want to see more sewing content and I will definitely make a sewing video after this. But for now, there's one about printmaking. I hope you like that as well :)
This week I made riso print in neon pink and teal. And yes it is quite neon (sorry for your eyes ;)). This is a video about how I personally make a risograph. I am not an expert (this is my like my third attempt at riso printing) and this is by no means a tutorial. Just a fun little video to get some insight for you who are curious how a risograph is made!

I am so happy I found your video, beautiful artwork. I am new to Riso printing as well as designing in procreate. I was always wondering how to create a background for my riso print without overprinting the image. I saw that you have cutouts of the flowers so you can print the last teal layer on top. How do I do that🙈

Thank you so much! Well, I'm going to try to explain it and hope it will be clear enough as I'm bad at explaining things haha. What I have done in Procreate: I drew the flowers first, then copied them onto another layer, the teal one. I drew the stems and made the background a light grey. Then I manually erased the flowers with the eraser, so they were cut out of the background. That way you'll know for sure the pink will be PINK, instead of having a light green layer on top of it. Thank you! I don't work there but we have a printing studio here where you can 'rent' the riso machine for a few hours :) Very nice!

Beautiful art! Question, why do you have many layers for the same color? I've seen other videos mention that they do different opacities per layer, is that what you did?

Thank you! Yes, I used different layers for the opacity, and also to easily move around every part of the image. For example: if I would have made everything that is green in one layer at once, it would mean I couldn't just change one leaf in size or position, without changing almost the whole illustration. I hope you know what I mean. This way I'll have more control over every single part of the image, which I think is one of the plus sides of using Procreate :) In the end - I merge them all into one layer per colour. But when it's unfinished, I like to use many layers :) If it doesn't make sense to you please let me know!
