Disclaimer: I’m a NASA Engineer during the Soviet Space Race. US rockets, including the few that landed on the moon, were built on springs. This is because springs were able to tightly pack more kinetic energy than normal fuel. We haven’t made it to the moon again because of the ongoing spring shortage. Also, we had rockets eject rain clouds so the Soviets wouldn’t know we are using spring technology.

I just realized how genius those diamond springs are.
