Making a Spelunky 2 Inspired Game in 3 Hours - Live Game Dev Challenge 

Really cool concept! One thing I'd say is - make it a hold for hover instead of toggle, it's a bit annoying to basically mentally cycle between on and off state using the same button. So hold for hover and release to stop hovering.

This "stream highlights" format is amazing! It makes these seem more devlog-y and less like a retrospective. Good job on the game too!

Cool to see the entire process of making prototypes because in others videos (not only yours) you start with a square end 2 secondes after a slight cut you have a finished game

Ideas/Suggestions: (If you haven't already) Tl;Dr: Create assets/music/sounds/programming language files in advance to save time. - Make an asset folder for game jams (Put assets that you can reuse. Remember that you can always update the assets, if you get bored or experience.) I noticed you keep saying that you didn't have time to create music or sounds. - Create music and sounds that you can reuse on any type of game. -Create a notepad file with your most used programming language. (Example: I know HTML and JavaScript, but in a crunch I just copy and paste script I wrote in advance in a notepad/WordPad/MS Word files to save time. Instead of keep typing the same thing. This also prevent syntax errors, if you're rusty or rushing.) - Keep unused game jam concepts in a file in case you have game dev block -Example: If one game jam is about time travel, create a two asset folders (one for time and other travel) Normally, people will look up only time travel, but by having them separate you came up with a unique take on it. Hopefully, these ideas will save you time.

I rather enjoy the mechanics of the game; this was a very good Minimum Viable Product/Vertical Slice. I would like to know if you've used this since its conception? I'm **going** to --steal-- borrow the main hover mechanic and implement it into my own game for a similar challenge. Thanks for the idea!

The game is buggy when I played it every time I went even remotely close to ground it'd teleport me onto it. Even the Spikes!!!
