The adjustable stop was one more tool in my list of projects. I’m sure that most of you know the use of this tool. For those of you that don't, the purpose of the adjustable stop is to provide a repeatable position for the workpiece, or workpieces as well as to support the back of very thin parts while they are held in the three or four jaw chuck.
As for the extended lock nut, it’s nothing more than a simple way of directing chips outside the spindle passing them through the change gear cover; so, no more chips in the gears and of course in the driving belts!
Both adjustable stop and extended lock nut designs were copied from toolsandmods.com. Although the initial design of the adjustable stop remained the same (there is a reason for that), you will see that it shares features from another design found at Harold Hall's web pages; but this is explained in detail in the video.
I'll hope you find this video interesting.
All the best
Jimmy
